The signing of Alice Boman was kind of a coincidence. Adrian Recordings just had an intense spring with a lot of releases and had no plans on signing anything new. Then a local sound engineer from “Studio Möllan” gave us a record with Alice which he thought we should listen to. We did and time just stopped.

The first EP from Alice is called “Skisser” (means “Sketches” in Swedish) because that is exactly what it is. It was released in May 2013. The EP contains songs which Alice recorded in her home, just for her to remember and they were never meant to be heard by anyone, Alice sings with as much force as fragility, a Billie Holiday for the 21st century, without the jazz.

This track was made when the first green colours came out after a long winter in Oslo, spring 2020. Finally seeing the green after many grey months can be overwhelming, and hopefully spills over in dance.

Sitting in a train looking out the window, we're passing through a forest so fast
counting all the animals that i can see

but that was a long time ago so now i play it alone

i'm in the frontseat of a car and i don't know who's driving it
he introduced himself as carl but there's nothing more to it
i don't want to speak i just want to feel the speed
he doesn't know my name he doesn't know my real age

i'm at the top deck of a boat staring down at the smashing waves
i have to hold on to the rail in case i'd jump
we used to feel the same, we used to feel the same
but that was a long time ago so now i travel alone

I'm in the backseat of a van and loud music fills my head
she picked me up at the harbor and now she's driving me home (to bed)
i watch the sun set in the dalmatian sea
the girls welcome me, and the dogs bark for me
it's been a year since i was here, but i feel as if i never left


Traveling

Lately La La took shape when Sara Gustafsson lived in Brighton and started to play in open mic's in the late noughties. She started rendering famous songs, like "I wanna dance with somebody", "Naive" by Lily Allen and "Boys, boys boys" by Sabrina. 
Overwhelmed by the response from the audience, Sara started to mix in compositions of her own in the live performances. She used various sound sources on stage, tape recorder and minidisc as well as different instruments. The years in Brighton formed Sara and the beginnings of Lately La La.
