RJ Nu-Disco & Edits Mix April 2022

Super duper excited to be dropping number 24 in our series from another good pal and very talented bean, the lovely Admin.

Adam should be something of a familiar name by now, as one of the leading lights of the Bristol disco/funk/rare groove scene. He's been travelling across Europe and around the UK of late, playing alongside some of the absolute best in the game, and showing off what he can do. He's also dropped a couple of stellar 7" records in the last couple of years - 'Step Into Light' and 'Halo' - which were both immediate buy on sight material, with the former receiving lofty praise from the mighty Luke Una.

We first crossed paths through our friend Jake's party 'Tzara', and had an absolute blast hanging out, chatting records, and then playing them late in to the night at the party. We then met behind the decks again at Westival with a 6hr b4b between Adam, Jake, and ourselves, and it was easily one of our highlights of the year.

This mix shows off his inimitable style, with an incredible selection of records, mixed about as smoothly as it gets. Enjoy!

This is my Spin City Showthat aired live at 7pm 09.12.2018 on myhouseradio.fm. This week I shared the show with my friend, Norweigan based Carl Christian Welhaven aka Beatwell. It was a pleasure to share a show with Carl.

I played the first part of the show with tracks from Jkriv, Saint Paul, Mike Dunn, MuteNoise, Secret Squirrels, Pete Le Freq, Joe Cleen, Cody Currie, Imfrom Ull and The Funk District before handing over to Beatwell to see out the show, and boy, does he deliver in fine style. This is a you do not want to miss.

Beatwell is Dj who is based in Oslo, Norway. He holds a prestigious residency at Hakkasan Ling Ling, as well as playing regular gigs and private parties in his home town. His goal as a DJ is to always create the ultimate atmosphere, not just dropping bangers, taking the crowd on a journey into the rhythms of contemporary electronica, groovy disco & quality house music. He has been incredibly inspired by music from the last century including Old School Hip-Hop, Classic 80’s Disco, & the birth of Electronica. These have all made a lasting impression on him.

Carl also runs a superb monthly podcast series Called 'Caffeine Supreme' that has seen some of the best names in the business as guests. You can check this out on his Soundcloud page.
