If you are not familiar with dj tamalero, let me put it in this way: in the underground, he is as famous as Erick Rincon or 3Ball MTY, but he remains unsigned, keeping an impressive number of followers and plays without any PR or Management behind. It is only him and his music.

Insane Frisson marks Tamalero's return to the Mal Dicen family and Mad Decent blog, and this time the EP will feature remixes from Happy Colors & Nico Javan.

Salsa Choke (Pronounced Choh- kech) is the newest approach from a whole new generation of Urban Artists to the always expanding Latin Diaspora.

Blending aesthetics from Crunk, Hip Hop, Reggaeton, and Salsa, with Colombian Afro Pacific music, the result is a unique approach to Salsa.

Being one of the most underground genres in South America, Salsa Choke style of dancing was seen by millions when Colombia's soccer team celebrated every time they scored. Triggering right there an exhaustive expansion for that unique sound.

In order to give the compilation its real credibility, we went straight to the source. Cali, Colombia.  And asked two of the most prominent promoters of the genre to curate and select the tracklist.

Dj Marlong (Son & Sabor) and Jebuke (Tropicalia) grabbed some of the most dynamics acts from the genre, while Caballo and Pernett covered the "less ghetto" approach.

This is our second stop in a trip through the whole continent, in where a-la Che Guevara, we will be unveiling some of the particular sounds of every country we visit as outsiders, and also how artists see their own culture:

This trip explains why Chile is perhaps the most vanguardist country in South America in terms of electronic Music, preserving a unique identity.  Indigenous and andean sounds.

Two practically unknown genres for outsiders are also present in Cielo Roto, : Jazz guachaca and Dub Guaracha, something that came from outside, and as soon as chilean musicians heard jazz or dub, they adapted it to their own style.  Hopefully new generations of producers keep dropping these two styles.


Matanza, Daniel Klauser, Cholita Sound, prove how proud Chilean are from their  Andean indigenous roots, while Lata and Dj Subversivo show how immersed in politics Chilean people still are.
