Papayera are a charismatic, tecnicolour 10-piece band made up of some much loved players on London’s vibrant Latin music scene. The music is driven by indigenous and folkloric rhythmns, which morph into the booty shaking sounds of Cumbia, Porro and Vallenato that fill Colombia’s city streets today. Guaranteed to have everyone in good spirits? and (probably) soaked in rum for luck.

This is KID AFRIKA (Danny Ramirez) from Cuba, one of the musicians why i started to promote latin american music from London back in 2006; when i met him and start the radio show where he made the radio jingle for me and support my project, he was one of the most promising artist living here in London . He passed away today and i feel so sad to hear this kind of things for such a good person and g...reat artist. He was one of the first to be involved with MOBO Awards and our local nominations, also appear on many compilations from Uk - Europe and latin america to Japan.
