Compared to modern concert harps, the string tension on arched harps was relatively low. The lowest note on this instrument (string #21) is an F1 (43.65 Hz) and I have used a gut concert harp 5th octave ‘C’ for it. I began stringing the highest notes on the harp with nylon monofilament increasing in gauge to string #10. From that point until the lowest note I used gut. I have also used the modern concert harp color code of red for ‘doh’ and blue for ‘fa’.

This track was the product of fooling around with the GarageBand app's "Live Loops" feature on my iPad. If I had to give a backstory for it, I would say it's an ensemble of musicians playing for a banquet in ancient Egypt. While the exact sound of ancient Egyptian music is unknown (as they did not have a notation system), I wanted to create an Egyptian track that DIDN'T sound Arabic or Middle Eastern (since the Islamic conquest postdates the decline of Pharaonic Egypt by centuries).

Another story: Molo Khya – ”Eat Khya”
Khya was called ”the poisoning plant” in the Pharaonic era. 
When Egypt was invaded by the Hyksos, the Egyptians were 
ordered to eat the poisoning plant ”Molo Khya” with the aim 
to break the Pharaonic civilization.
