Philip Lawns is an Italian music producer, co-founder of Turbokitchen, releasing on labels such as Motek and My Favorite Robot Recordings.

In his debut EP as solo artist for Thisbe Recordings, “Ten Years of Travel”, he tells the tale of the Odyssey and his protagonist Ulysses through the use of machines (such as Nord Lead 4, Roland SPD-30, Behringer TD -3, Yamaha Reface CS & Moog sub 37) and hot grooves. Out of his secret garden, a perfect acoustically isolated walk-in closet, “Ten Years of Travel” was born. Particular to the structure of the EP is that each track has its own remix.

With a rework of “Distorted View”, Days of Being Wild deliver a dark disco classic, true to their idiosyncratic sound and original beats, mesmerizing the dancefloor straight away. Traveller and cosmic poet Pyrame rework of the single “Start” first feels like rain dropping before the storm comes and reveals an euphoric feeling as the break starts. Romain FX nails a fine remix of Ten Years of Travel, the main single of Philip Lawns´EP. His remix is a pure italo disco rework of the original, infused with pop synths and keys, that won´t leave anyone still and quiet. Banger.

Soul Of Hex is comprised of Emanuel and Gerardo Cedillo. The two young producers, DJs and multi-instrumentalists from Mexico, are involved with Tijuana’s ‘new rave’ scene establishment and have run Vicario Musique Recordings for over a decade. Their talent and love for music production was spotted by Larry Heard himself in 2014, who remixed Lip Reading, a track from their EP on CVMR.

This crucial collaboration particularly boosted Soul Of Hex’s popularity and their schedule has been very busy ever since. Soul Of Hex’s Phuria EP counts as number fourteen on Massimiliano Pagliara’s Funnuvojere Records. It is a collection of five pieces of exquisite production.

The title track is an Italo house piano belter with an acid character ready to provide ecstatic dance floor moments. The contrast between the wonky bass lines and the rarefied strings creates an ethereal yet euphoric atmosphere in ‘Luxor' and 'Sunday Sunday', two funk tracks imbued with romanticism. 'Voodoo Warrior' comes as a surprise: it is a peak time progressive house banger defined by a futuristic approach. Closing the EP 'Phuria (Acido Corrosivo)' is a stripped down version of the original title track, for acid heads only!

Ara Koufax (Sam Gill and Luke Neher) have made music and videos together in Melbourne, Australia for over a decade.

Their latest EP follows a string of two-track releases through Cutters Records, CSCN and Fort Romeau's Cin Cin imprint.

'Sweet Pitch' forgoes utilitarian club tracks. Instead, facsimiles of techno, fake trance, uncanny-valley breaks, shuffles, and disembodied voices find their home in a spacious ambient soundscape. It's a compilation of music that never happened.
