The phased nature of this is good - first the breezy and motive introduction and then it's deadened capture. It's a marked change of listening and it makes for quite a corrective twist in the perceived shape of the sounds - something the subsequent release confirms to a surprising extent..

Ok, so here we are. After big success of "Side Effects", another witch house (but this time more dark/doom/glitch/melancholy/nightmare-pop) compilation is going to be released.

Our last compilation, "Side Effects", has reached over 400 downloads and over 2000 plays on the internet, so we've decided to make a second part.

Now, we want to invite to take a part in it artists from all of the world.
We've also changed genre - we want to show a dark side of... pop music.
You definitely know dream pop - soft, melodic, relaxing.
But we want to make it something inverse - let's call it, for example, nightmare pop (but it's just an example, exemplification - we don't want to make a new genre). We're looking for psychedelic/doom/synth pop tracks, but dark and creepy.

lauki is surrounding symmetry, spirals towards inner coldness, beyond words, the Antartida of the heart. frozen edge mandala, as an ice crystal, microscopically captured nanoseconds before it’s melted. crystalline nets of microsounds and glitch, computerized sounds, constant, almost mechanic ritmical estructures, wich all of a sudden get a soul and break, as they get in touch with the analogic melancholy of the rubbed strings. the inevitable fragility of the frozen snow in a sunny winter day.

is born in Iruña and lives in Barcelona, where he works as freelance sound technician and composer.

he has a particular weakness for contemporary classic music, generative art and the stetics of the digital error.

Mikel also works in some other projects, as f.ex., Lupus, where he works on ambient music and IDM. At the end of 2008 the netlabel 49manekinow published his album “Obertura”, a piece of sound experiments trapped among the IDM, the glitch and the concrete music.

he is also part of the collective Sci-Phi, where he explores, through different audiovisual pieces, the connection between image, sound and the sensibility of the time we live.
