ENERGIA (feat. Hurricane)

This mixtape is special to me, it might not be the best one technically speaking, nor the most coherent one maybe, it might slightly differ from what you’ve heard me playing lastly but it emerges from experiences and discussions I recently had with different people and also personal reflexions about developing, evolving and finding (or trying to find) your own musical direction as a dj and artist. This set is also important to me because it includes different tracks from Belgian DJs and producers who have deeply inspired me this last year, so big shout out to them!
This mixtape is a little journey from Hip-hop to Reggaeton, Vogue Beat, Amapiano, UK Garage, D&B, RnB edit, etc…

L4U is a familiar fixture of Liège’s nightlife. She, through her work as co-founder of the queer collective @transpedegouines and as promoter of “Who’s That Girl” her own female DJ only party concept, has taken part in making the night, queer.
Navigating between LGBTQIA+/alternative spaces and more mainstream hip-hop events, L4U likes to blend genres and always tries to explore new sounds to create eclectic, technical but dynamic sets. Her unconditional love for old school RnB and recent Soundcloud digging obsession has led her to build an ever-expanding collection of the best breakbeat, ukg, jungle, reggaeton, latin tech and sometimes other high bpm reworks of your favorite 2000’s hits.
 
Despite her recent career, L4U already has a long list of gigs to her credit in both Liège, Brussels, Antwerp, Paris & Lille (Core Festival, Dour, Esperanzah, C12, KulturA Liège, Bruzz Radio, Reflektor, De Studio, Micro Festival, Lille Saint Sauveur, etc).

Last but not least, L4U is also particularly concerned about and committed to create safer dancefloor and nightlife spaces for both artists and the audience (with a focus on women & LGBTQIA+ people discrimination issues), that's why she launched "Who's That Girl?" in December 2022, a party concept based in Liège,  to promote and give more visibility to women and queer DJs on the local scene.
