   This album fuses a number of genres and collects a wide variety of instruments as well. The danger with this style of production, is amalgamating mismatched themes and instruments, leading to a cacophony of sound that never settles down to be a listenable, engaging tune. Well thankfully, Laura has not fallen into that unfortunate, well worn rut, that so many producers end up in. “Aquarium Funk” is engaging and musical on so many levels and well worth your listening time.
If you are a fan of Jazz, Hip Hop, Soul and a melting pot of groove based sounds, then you’ve found your pot of gold at the end of the rainbow with this 13 track album. Or as Laura herself has described it ,”Aquarium Funk is an innovative compendium of cool with wings, hip with the hap of old school meets break out contemporary jazz fusions of capriccio tuneful funky charm.”

Laura Botsford is a Composer and Songwriter from Arkansas. Independent Musician  with Various Genres'  of Ambient, Jazz, Soundtracks, Country, Soul and Classical  Dreamscape Ambient Fusions, Laura Botsford music spans many musical genres from folk-country to pop, rock, and jazz,  and cinematic soundtracks for over three decades.  Her blend of genres uniquely mesh in an air of ethereal ambiance that defies gravity, moving, and true to their original roots yet expand into innovative musical dimensions.
 
"I call it my musicality reality, as I love all genres from funk to R&B,  jazz, country folk,  and cinematic scores. My compositions reflect an ever-evolving blend of all of them. The focus of my compositions is pairing  Jazz, Soul, and a melting pot of groove-based sounds into crossovers with ambient, and classical orchestration. "  

 

With the advent of home studios, Laura took to the technology in a renewed rhythmic swirl of innovative discovery, she began composing instrumental albums and EP's. Her first release was Wishing Wall,  followed next with Prince of Peace in 2013. Aquarium Funk and  Poet Streets in 2015 and 2016, and Journey of Fairytales in 2017 and, Parlor Tricks in 2020 

 "When the world gets me down, I change my inner world by composing music. Bringing Instruments together puts me back together.
