Chants for Healing, Release, and Renewal

This mantra is for those moments in our lives when we know something needs to change, we need to change, and we need support through that transformation. It's both a request and a statement. An opportunity to transmute that discomfort into something beautiful. May it hold you and open you.

Something New

This chant was inspired by an answer Ayla Nereo gave to a question asked during her Living Song course. A student inquired about situations where we feel we need to protect ourselves and our energy, to put up a shield so we don't take in someone else's anger, jealousy, or worse. Ayla responded that the desire to shield ourselves often comes from a place of fear, and when we create our protection from fear, it may still let fear through. When we consciously create a field of love around us, only love can get through. 

This story is a paraphrase of the exchange from memory, long after the moment. It's how I remembered what I needed to learn. 

I offer this chant to you now, as my assimilation of this message into an active practice.

When I Emanate Light

This song is a powerful meditation. You can sing the melody (the first part) as a chant, with your own timing, allowing your heart to set the tempo. Or you can keep it in rhythm and add the harmonies.

Only This Moment

This song arose in 2021 out of personal grief and collective grief (covid loss of connection), as well as out of a much deeper grieving for what we've done to our Mother Earth. May these words offer hope for her, and our, resilience.

This can be taught in community song circles by using only the first three lyric parts.

Also, this is an old recording, check with me if you're interested in carrying this song as a few small things have changed ;)

Trust the Dawn

This chant is deeply soothing and healing. I call it an "affirmation zipper" because, while the recorded words are "I am loved," you may sing (zip in!) many possible phrases here: I am held, I am safe, I can trust, etc. Sing what you need!
