Shoot My Birds

Tapioca is a Brussels-based, Brazil-inspired duo made of rapper / lyricist Le Tagareland and producer / composer SiKa, who draw inspiration from rap, jazz, MPB and funk from the 70's and 80's. They symbolize a meeting of various musical currents which finds its origin in a common passion: the Brazilian culture and its wholly unique musical blend. The duos debut album “Voyage,” a genre-infused ode to freedom, arrives March 25th via Jakarta Records’ “Dubplates” series.

The first single is the stunningly beautiful "Move On,” which sways like a ship on the smoothest of seas or a pure ray of sonic sunshine.. The songs groove is laid-back and infectious, with bouncy synths, crisp percussion and blissful harmonies combining to a form a sound that bridges the duos musical universe. It’s a sound that will be on repeat into the warmer weather! Accompanying the single is the exquisite music vide, produced and directed by the worldly duo.

While the sound of the Belgian binomial is undeniably influenced by classical Brazilian musicians such as Marcos Valle, Simonal and Emilio Santiago or contemporary artists such as Anderson Paak., Mndsgn or D'Angelo, Tapioca breaks through the sonic clutter by proposing its own musical identity, so allow yourself to be transported by honest music that comes from the heart, or as Tapioca likes to call it, coração.

Beats of All-Nations: Seasons Change is a 13-track feature compilation of beats and compositions. On this collection we are revisited by artists whom we’ve worked with in the past, and several of which making their Beats of All-Nations debut. Following the success of his album In the Moment, Makaya McCraven, a pioneer in the new jazz era offers the live-drum heavy “Midman.” Bombay Da Realest, producer of Blu’s Good to Be Home album, hits hard with the funk inspired “Dig This”. Sev Seveer, the highly creative abstract hip hop manufacturer of our first official release, Constant Elevation: Odessa Star, returns with vocalist Megiapa on the vibed out “C.S.G.” International sounds however are not forgotten by Co. Fee on the Brazilian inspired “White Sands.” The compilation comes complete with exclusive artwork designed by Deladeso. 

Beats of All-Nations, founded by Mike Styles in 2009, did not set out to be a label, nor have we conformed to that title. We are a community of artists, producers, deejays music and culture enthusiasts. Our operation is small, though we are represented by many with a goal to continuously raise the bar while keeping the art diverse and the vibes just right. We feature artists you may already love, but especially those you may have never heard before. Along the way, we have given independent artists a voice and an open space to create while introducing them to new audiences. Beats of All-Nations’ very own Porchlite gets busy on the smoothed out “Where are the Roses.” French producer 7even Sun, of our second release Escapologies and our veteran engineer Choco also supply some enlightening rhythms to the project. Other contributors include wave Groove and DJ Erok of Void Shift, Radius (Etc. Records) and Repeated Measures (New Los Angeles/Beat Cinema). The comp opens with music by Aux Voyager and closes with a colossal tune by SLEEP TO STATIC, two veteran producers from our community.

MIMS is delighted to premiere “Come Inside”, the second single lifted from Italian pianist, composer and producer, Nicola Guida’s forthcoming ‘Speleology’ album, due for release early next year on Inner Circle Music, the prestigious US label headed by sax legend Greg Osby. 

“Come Inside” is a laid back exploration of jazz and hip hop, featuring Karnival Kid on MC duties. His nonchalant yet powerful delivery recalls Loyle Carner, and flows beautifully over Guida’s delicate playing, melting the notes of his piano into a seamless harmonic stream. Soothing flutes provide the melodic line throughout, with additional production adding layers of sonic richness.

A disciplined virtuoso and a freethinking, genre-bending pianist, Nicola Guida is a London-based Italian jazz pianist, composer and producer. Academician at heart - he's the author of two respected thesis on jazz and holds a Masters in Philosophy. On “Come Inside”, Nicola tells us "I'm so delighted to release this tune which contains a sample of one of my heroes, legendary Italian composer Piero Piccioni".

“Come Inside” will be released on November 27 on all digital platforms.
