Biography:
Enrique Jimenez aka Big Pack is the House Salad Music label boss out of Mexico City. He discovered his love for electronic music in the mid 90's when he attended house and techno parties with local DJs. From then on, his intimate love affair with house music began. The sound of Chicago with labels like Cajual and Relief and Prescription brought him the most inspiration. His whole trajectory changed and music became his life. The task of discovering music became an infinite loop of collecting records. After 11 years of touring dance floors as a spectator and amateur DJ, in 2005 he acquired his first turntables, technics 1200s. When he finally felt he had an extensive vinyl collection, he decided to venture into the world of DJing professionally.
Now, with some years of experience, Big Pack has played in key clubs all over Mexico, opening for artists such as Kevin Saunderson, Kenny Larkin, Derrick Carter, Phil Weeks, Wally Callerio, Andrew Emil, JT Donaldson , Oliver Dollar, 1200 Warriors, to name a few.

He is busy with several internet radio show residencies on Sugarshackradio.com, Radio Webphre and his own podcast & label, House Salad Music, featuring the best DJs in house music. He is in his 700th episode of HSM podcast and has yet to put one of his own mixes on this platform.

Convinced of the timelessness of music, his mixes are a real tunnel of time, where he plays classics combined with the freshest of modern house.

Eva was born in France and like so many others she is now stationed in Europe's electronic music capital Berlin. A DJ with an incredible ear for both house & disco music, Eva knows how to curate a varied set that will keep the groove alive. This is displayed in her selection for us in which she rotates the disco highs of Folamour & Hotmood through to the classic house sounds of Strictly Rhythm & Soul Heaven. House Sessions #125 - March 2023 Podcast

This week we welcome a true selector and LBC favourite on the podcast!  Paul sent over these words about his musical journey to date;

I began buying records as a young teenager in the mid to late 70s, starting off with Soul, Funk and Disco, partly due to my Dad’s influence and taste, as he loved bands like Earth Wind & Fire, War and The Isley Brothers etc, but also through listening to tastemaker radio DJ’s like Robbie Vincent and Greg Edwards, as well as the numerous black music pirate radio stations of the day, and club DJs such as Froggy, Chris Hill and Bob Jones. My tastes grew to include Jazz, Latin and Fusion, and with a passion for new cutting-edge music developing, early Hip Hop and Electro, what is now known as Boogie, then in 1985…  HOUSE!

I started DJ’ing out in the early 80s, mainly at friends parties, progressing to warm ups at local Soul nights, before getting residencies at bars in London and Birmingham, and playing guest spots all over the UK and beyond.  

I was also co-organiser and one of the resident DJs at The Sands, the ‘pop-up’ gig across the road @Southport Weekender, which we did for 9 years until it moved to the new site in Minehead and am honoured to have played at the legendary Southport Weekenders since. I am also partnered with Nick Ferrara promoting Basement 108, a quarterly night in Glasgow, dedicated to Soulful Deep & House, where we’ve welcomed the cream of UK DJs like Neil Pierce, The Journey Men, Groove Assassin and Craig Smith to play for our knowledgeable crowd. 

I have also enjoyed many years doing internet radio before settling at STARPOINT RADIO where I can play all the music I love, always with a focus on new releases from contemporary Soul and Jazz, and the many shades of House music thru to vintage grooves from the 70s and 80s.

Laura Indorf (Hardgrove) resides in ATL but has roots in Cleveland, Ohio. Having lived most of her adulthood in Toledo, Ohio (an hour outside of Detroit) her relationship with house and techno began as one of the original members of DJ Minx's Detroit collective, Women On Wax. Female DJ's and producers were just burgeoning onto the electronic music scene during the 90's. The collective was an opportunity for WOW members to empower each other while DJing Midwest parties and clubs. This networking and reinforcement of supplying dancefloors with some of the best electronic music of the time led to Laura's membership in another Detroit DJ collective, Bang Tech 12, and producing house and techno for Soiree Records International. Spanning decades of vinyl collection, Laura mixes obscure gems with new acquisitions from producers and labels dear to her. Her sets are dynamic, her skills bar none and she motivates the hell out of the dance floor.
