Had a little fun with my first attempt at recording an original I wrote with some fancy recording equipment a couple of weeks back. I'm on vocals and guitar and Tristen's killing it on the backing vocals, guitar percussion and other musically/technologically talented things.

Hey here's another song of mine! This was actually the first song I ever wrote and entirely completed, from start to finish. I started out with a lot of half finished songs which came to nothing and this was the first to make it to the surface...

My Friend (Original/Demo)

Here's the third original demo I recorded with https://soundcloud.com/simon-drew-productions last week! It's called "Hunger Strike" and its theme was influenced by my experiences with drug use in relationships and the damage we did to ourselves when we were together. It was written during a time when I was increasingly realising that a miracle wasn't coming down from above to cure us ("Well I'm sick of waiting for the oceans to part") and it was either going to be both of us going down or one of us leaving. It was a liberating time, understanding that I wasn't tied to my fate in a sinking relationship fuelled by damaging habits. 
"Well I won't be your waiting room,
Or the gradual goodbye in the ICU,
'Cause what's killing me,
Is killing you too.
What's killing me,
Is killing us too." 
Someday soon I'll write something happier (or probably something sad to a faster tempo haha!)
Hope you can get something out of it anyway! It's an important one for me. It'll sound loads better out of good speakers or earphones, so maybe try that out!
