“MY MYSTERY” is an especially lovely heartbreaker in the grand tradition of country heartbreakers. It’s real. Have you ever been deeply involved with someone when suddenly they disappeared?  You found your love had been spirited away by another?  Just… how did you not know?  They look happy together.  Damn it. Damn them.  It is a mystery.  

James had written “MY MYSTERY” for another friend but Erin said “Don’t you know this song is for me?”  Maybe you hear shades of Linda Ronstadt or Patsy Cline in her performance?  Erin’s singing is pure emotion.

Guest musician Abby Posner is the other star of “MY MYSTERY.”  James: “We had Erin’s great vocal, guitars, drums, and bass for My Mystery, but what was going to put it over the top?  I was hearing banjo.  Everyone knows Abby is a magic person and fantastic banjo player so I sheepishly asked her if she would play and she generously said yes.  Then she said ‘would you mind if I added a mandolin too?’  Hell no we wouldn’t mind.  Two days later we had gorgeous bluegrass mandolin and banjo colors on our song.”
