there's a great series from the late 80's called The Secret Life of Machines, and in one episode about the engine, they demonstrate an early model motor vehicle that has an amusing number of levers and dials to operate it, and also what is called a 'total loss' oil system, where the oil runs through the workings of the car and just....pours out the back onto the road the whole time it's running, and I find that very funny

Anyway, this is a song about cycles/flat spirals/exes/familiarity/making choices/not making choices, in delicious demo-quality mpeg-4 fidelity

it's my most structurally complex and worked-on song perhaps ever, maybe it shows, maybe it don't, idk, i like it

also it was initially inspired by a song called Four Failures by a person dear to me who made the song under the name e.s. hughes, otherwise i'd never have made a car themed song, so you should go listen to that too
