In Irish Mythology, Tír na nÓg is the mystical realm of everlasting youth and beauty - a supernatural otherworld which surpasses time and space.
This piece seeks to evoke the transcendental journey between realms through the 'mist' - a passageway into Tír na nÓg. On a broader level, this piece seeks to explore the nature of reality, specifically the way sonic features can elevate and heighten our
sense of reality and/or depict a shift from our own subjective reality in a perceivable way. Field recordings and pre-recorded audio alongside live electronics will be utilised in order to establish a clear reality so that there is an audible transition in states.

Tír na nÓg challenges us to question our relationship with our own finiteness and connection to the natural world through the reflection of a mystic utopianism in which spirituality is an essential lifeform which binds together every element of the universe.

Based off my piece of writing (;
Light droplets of moisture float daintily downwards, spattering the cold street bricks, creating a reflective sheen off the stonework. Two almond shaped eyes, framed by bushy eyebrows which curve slightly, stare into it, transfixed by the warped impression the sheen gives their appearance. Could he really be so easily transformed into something he isn’t? He purses his lips slightly in thought. They are tinged a light pink, but were succumbing to the cold.
In reality, his eyes are chocolate brown, verging on black, complimenting his dark olive skin which smoothes over sculpted cheekbones and a square cut jaw. A look of disinterest passes over his face as he starts to shiver. Whether the cause was that of the cold or the elusive shadow which passes over his reflection, he doesn't know. Sealed lips, in agreed silence, finally allow streaks of blue to caress their surface. Dark auburn hair, curls down to rest on broad shoulders, making him look like the bassist of some 1970s punk-rock band. His name is Art.
