These spacious, improvised vocals, dreamy guitar and slow groove will immediately take you to the middle of summer holidays." - this words has written us the amazing duo, after recording this material few days ago.

IKARVS is a project based on instrumental and vocal improvisation, which is the core of both their compositions and live performances.
 
Oscillating around the hypnotic downtempo, the duo goes far beyond genre conventions. Heavenly chants in an instant become ghastly modulated vocal loops, surrounded with guitar inspired by funk, cumbia and psychedelic rock. This seemingly chaotic mosaic is glued together by a steady, slow rhythm and bass pulsating deep below the surface.
 
In the concert setting, IKARVS is an electroacoustic live act designed in a way that enables a trance, introspective musical journey, as well as spontaneous interaction with the audience. On stage, the duo transforms into creatures of unreal appearance and dance, which guide the audience through this unique experience.
 
Since the beginning of the duo in 2018, IKARVS has already performed, among others, at the Fusion Festival in Germany, Summer Contrast, LAS festival, or in places such as Schron, Transformator and Bar Studio. In July 2021, they have their debut EP released on Berlin based label, DowntempoLove. In October their music was released in Hupupa Records and Oramics.

In 2021 we will present the series »Unpublished Reports from Level 23«, which is based on the 2020 series »The Untold Stories of the Sinking Sea!«. The number 6 in this year and number 136 since the beginning in 2011, is from a young sailor, who has grown dear to my heart as a friend - AND - I think he is a talented producer and an upcoming artist: https://soundcloud.com/ouhana .

Our common history is still quite young and fresh and began on the roof of a rather tall skyscraper. I'm still very grateful for the weekend, the two-day birthday party and the encounters - because, among other things, I got to know this young sailor. He played his set right befor me and unfortunately I wasn't really able to perceive his set until the end. But, above all, I remember him with his open and very loving manner. Yes, well, it should take a while, he sailed out to sea, I stayed on land - only none of the other knew that and so it needed the Mannheim collective https://soundcloud.com/slowbar and Wiesogeradeschräg again to bring us on a Festival together. The hair was blowing in the wind, we laughed, had a casual time and played music together - this is how it feels when sailors are free and can do what they want: making music. Music, we process feelings and thoughts and can communicate through them - share them with you and dance to them. Sometimes a sailor has to go out to sea alone before he knows exactly where the journey should go - Richard aka Ouhana his journey to the sea should reflect exactly that and I think he has found the right tracks to capture this mood and make it audible.
