I wrote this in honor of the 50th Anniversary of Earth Day. This was one of the most recent times I've recorded on Garage Band. Just learning again. I play all instruments; guitar, bass, keys, vocals (drum track from keyboard). It will sound better when I get into the studio...soon!

Just working on this on Garage Band. Working on vocals, guitar, piano, bass parts just to get an idea of what I want to do in a "real" studio. I think it'll sound good with a great pianist. Let me know your thoughts!

Do You Think of Me?

I hooked my keyboards up a few weeks ago from many years of neglect and this groove just popped out immediately. Just an experiment adding percussion, synth, and guitar. When I get into the studio, the first solo will be synth violin. Jean-Luc Ponty said he's too busy to add a track but he gave me a couple of suggested violinists.

COVID Boredom

Again - this is not a final recording. Just getting ideas down. I started that acoustic guitar composition in the autumn of 2018 and it helped me with deep grief from the breakup September 15, 2018. I added synth and keys but not the final version. It then resolves with the beginning of "Goodnight Sweet Baby Sweet Dreams" which I had written in May 2018 for her.

My sweet little girl, Croaky, (cat)passed away between Solstice and Christmas Eve 2020. She was with me for 17 wondrous years.

I hike and hear the music of the forrest 

I feel a lovely breeze upon my skin

I come upon a snake and do the 7th 

Another chance a new life to begin


I turn my thoughts to Maggie in the desert

Imagine her so peaceful and serene

If you search you’ll never even find her footprint

Just a trace of her spirit on the breeze 


	Maggie is a nomad - drifting with the wind 

	where the currents flow her - traveling without end 


500 miles she walked the El Camino

Just before the age of 75

Seems like she’ll walk on and on forever 

her spirit for eternity survives 


I dream of playing music round the campfire 

Diane and Kaya all the camping Crones          

Memories that bring me so much pleasure     

Wondrous times retained in my old bones

Maggie in the Desert

Billboard Magazine award recipient, Laurie Dameron, has been playing the guitar for over 5 decades and singing even longer. Between solo performances and performances with her band, Laurie D and the Blues Babes, she has performed for hundreds of venues in and out of Colorado over the past 25 years. A broad repertoire folk, blues, and jazz allows her to perform many different venues. She has produced three CDs. She is also an environmental activist and in 2012 started her project “Spaceship Earth: What Can I Do?” Multimedia Environmental Presentations hoping to inspire folks to be better stewards to our beautiful planet Earth! Her song “What Can I Do?” made it to the top ten finalists in the 2011 Tipperary World Peace Song Contest. She passed the first round of auditions for America’s Got Talent in Denver in December of 2013.

In the playlist "Working On for New Albums" Laurie is playing guitars, Ukelele, bass, keys and some percussion.
