With the end of March comes another Monthly Spread installment, independently curated by @DOPECHEDDAR and aimed to deliver recently discovered international electronic gems.

This month’s ‘Spread’ includes two newly released tracks from pizza slinging @Emissions_Recordings’ label boss @P_Leone, named one of ‘25 Artists You Need To Watch In 2019’ by @Mixmag and totally living up to the acclaim. P.Leone’s ‘Walked Into My Life’ combines high-energy and heavy-hitting techno elements with a modified vocal sample from Lee Fields’ ‘Could Have Been’, resulting in what feels like an instant classic track that will endure the test of time on the dancefloor. ‘What Could I Have Done’ is also included in this playlist and is defined by a movement-inducing kick groove decorated by delayed synth stabs and heady highs. @DJLilyPita is a Jakarta based DJ and producer who has received a lot of attention for the recently released ‘Sunshine EP’ on the @Lauter-Unfug imprint. ‘Sequ3nce,’ a deep and melodic progressive house track, is highlighted in this playlist and is driven by a memorable deep baseline and rising synth pattern. The track really progresses in a beautiful way that should to be appreciated from start to finish. Be sure to check out the ‘Sunshine EP’ in its entirety! @BModular is another talented artist highlighted in this month’s ‘Spread’. Francesco Cappellini (b.mod) is a modular-focused techno artist pursuing Sound Engineering in Glasgow who has recently released ‘Expatriate’, a four track + two remix EP on the @StickyGround imprint. ‘Sly Me’ is a track that highlights b.mod’s skill with modular hardware and includes a unique assortment of electronic sounds that are carefully crafted and arranged. Vomvo is back with a cinematic story by the Danish artist Pete Oak. He is definitely one of the men to follow this year. Pete presents an amazing selection of pure electronic sounds giving his personal touch and offering his own soundtrack.
Vomvo is a conceptual album created by Sincopat that gives a different artist every year the chance to orchestrate a personal vision of his sound. Darlyn Vlys was the first one to develop this concept and AFFKT continued last year with another stunning collection. In 2007, we have Pete Oak as the leader, so let's enjoy the journey:

Lifted from 9th House digital debut on @wostreettracks, @vonda7 version of 'Feel It In The Evening' takes out the hazy and steamy languor of the original for a trip across further progressive, horizontal tech-y house landscapes.

In December 2017 Paulo Foltz released his first album, 'Pineal Connection', with a futuristic vision and addressing topics such as pineal gland, flow state and metaphysics. The album reached the ears of Richie Hawtin, Pan-Pot, Raxon, Clint Stewart, Blancah, and other great artists, projecting Foltz as the new Brazilian exponent in the world’s techno scene.

Such repercussion qualified him for a second album: 'Pineal Connection Remixes', having the original tracks reinterpretated by established artists, varying between different strands of Techno, Minimal, Breakbeat and Electronic. Such diversity of genres present in this work highlight even more the scope of the original tracks.

The kick-off of the remix album is given by Paulo Foltz himself with his rework of 'Mental Scanning', originally an intro that is now reborn with a steady and dance floor oriented groove, but which strongly maintains its intergalactic timbre. Then, the Binaryh duo brilliantly combines lush layers of melodies with a vibrant rolling bass in their version of 'Pulsar', followed by our queen Blancah with her magnificent Remix of 'Dimensional', leading us on an ethereal journey accompanied by a beautiful sound design!

Chris Hirose applies the original melody of 'Time' to an absolutely seductive groove, coupled with powerful effects of breathtaking synths and breaks. Next, the berliner Clint Stewart adds drum elements and a massive bass line to 'Teleportation', in an even more hypnotic version!

In 'Peace', Ellie Ka give us with her own ethereal vocals, adding even more feeling to this exciting journey through soft pianos and an engaging bass line. Gustavo Bravetti applies his technological minimalism to the original title track, 'Pineal Connection', affectionately reworked with several granular elements, bringing adrenaline and euphoria to this very innovative interpretation. The Mumbaata duo puts all their luggage and musical vision into 'Hologram', and the result is a hitech and analog breakbeat, just great!

Finishing the album, we raise the bpms of the tracks, with the versions of Stefano TT for 'Soul Rest', featuring a hypnotic techno with strong acid influences and metallic atmospheres, followed by Tarter, who closes this work with brilliance by mixing the original textures of 'Immersive' with a crude groove, which works really well within the created landscape.

Jaw Dropping Records EP - brought to you by no one less than Marc Molina and Calypse. Just in time for the hottest season! Marc was born and raised in Barcelona and is known for super groovy productions on labels like Frequenza. Maura and Shana both make the female only DJ duo Calypse. They are based in Rome and are the perfect fit for this Southern European co-production EP. “Free Souls” is the name of the main track of the release. The influence by both their warm Southern regions are undeniable. They created a house track carried by a round kick and driving hi-hats with a catchy and deep synth melody and club-ready drops.
