MOSCOW046 sees Italian talent Manuel De Lorenzi make his debut on Moscow Records. His 2019 release on Moss Co. smashed the clubs all of that summer, so we were eager to welcome him on to Moscow.

The release opens with Edoardo, a tribute in name to Manuel’s dear late father. In a mad twist of fate, the catalogue number 046 corresponds to his year of birth. The track itself rolls along thoughtfully, with catchy melodics and vocal snippets - perfect for those transition moments when a dance floor is ready to get moving.

Next up is 6th January, a rolling upbeat groover. Soulful vox and chords dance in a never ending groove reminiscent of a late afternoon on DC10’s terrace.

The EP closes with JJ Is Good - a much more serious affair. Heads-down drums and bass play with trippy vox and chords in an early Freak n’ Chic style. The Hook is a mind-twisting 4D knocking sound that is guaranteed to freak out any dance floor!

Joey Daniel returns as he rounds out the label’s 2022 schedule with a trio of late-night offerings via his ‘The First Agreement’ EP.

Setting the tone early with a selection of quality releases made for the dancefloor, Joey Daniel and his blossoming SiO Records imprint have quickly caught the attention of a long list of leading names within the minimal-leaning realms of house and techno. Fresh from welcoming his first guest to the label, with Argentinian maestro Guti serving up a collection of slick productions, the label founder is back to close out the year as he delivers a well-crafted package showcasing his talents within the studio via his ‘The First Agreement’ EP.

Title track ‘The First Agreement’ is a typically smooth production guided by crisp percussion arrangements and hooky vocal interjections to bring a captivating and hypnotic groove with hazy yet punchy undertones. Next, ‘Positive Territory’ merges organic drums with eerie, warping vocal murmurs and spiralling lead synths for yet more early hours material, before ‘Upside Down Jazz’ closes the show by delving into off-kilter territories as wonky synth stabs and echoed vocal snippets ebb and wave around the track’s on point groove.

Joey Daniel unveils new label SiO Records, launching a hub where music meets graphic design and beyond.

Creating and maintaining an identity within dance music is never an easy task, yet Joey Daniel continues to evolve while staying true to his own sound and style. A regular at Sunwaves, Music On, Unum Festival, Paradise and Caprices Festival, Daniel’s musical heritage gives him a different outlook to many within the scene with consistency at the heart of his work and thinking. A natural progression of this approach comes via the launch of his own imprint, SiO Records. A project shaped around the Dutch favourite's own vision to combine music and graphic design, April sees the label’s first instalment as he drops three fresh productions via his ‘Starting Point’ EP.

“I always looked up to a selection of labels that immediately made you look forward to the next release coming. I knew what to expect; they had a strong musical identity and were all led by an artist within that sound. That’s an idea I always kept in my mind: starting my own label with my sound at its heart while working with and featuring artists with unique styles that fit, regardless of whether they are known or unknown. The artists represented the label, which is what I want to create with SiO. Not only with the music but with the artwork to create a strong visual identity, so when you see it or hear it, you know that it's SiO.” - Joey Daniel.

Slick drums and icy hats guide smooth title cut ‘Starting Point’, combining rich chords, slinking bass and resonant melodies across a shuffling roller. ‘Show Up’ journeys darker and deeper as bubbling low ends work alongside vocal flickers and sharp drum licks, before laying the focus on crisp organic percussion, sweeping synths and off-kilter samples across the classy late-night sonics of his ‘Dark To Dawn Mix’.

French Taiwanese Nathan Alzon and Dutchman Borra join forces for a brilliant new EP on the unstoppable Boogeyman label. With both European and Asian roots and a worldwide spread of taste, multicultural artist Alzon promises a taste of original music and has had plenty of high profile support from the biggest names in the scene. 

Groove Radiation kicks off with a thumping house groove and nice loose percussion. There are funky bass riffs that bring extra party vibes to the quick and slick groove and it's easy to see this one really making its mark. We Came Baked (With Borra) is another high speed and compelling house cut with turbo charged bass and trippy vocals layered into the drums. 

This is another superbly fresh, forward thinking release from all.

Two of the UK's premiere house music talents, Londoner Route 94 and pan American talent Secondcity have been behind stand-out modern-day anthems alongside a string of underground cuts since their retrospective breakthroughs and sharp ascents onto the global electronic scene.

Having linked up for the first time ten years ago, the duo join forces for another big effort as they head to Solid Grooves Raw with 'Vamo'. For our 17th release we welcome Gaskin to the label. He brings us three unique flavours that all incorporate a driving bassline and an uplifting feel. The lead track 'Over You' features a strong female lead which will be sure to catch attention. The second and third tracks compliment the release perfectly. Track two provides dreamy pads giving it an overall atmospheric feel with a catchy topline hook. Track three touches on the more soulful side of things with sharp, standout vocal stabs and a jazzy bassline. On remix duties, we have the up and coming Chilean producer Astre, bringing us his take on the original 'Over You'. He provides us with some funky chords, punchy drums and an underlying bassline groove.
