Takeshi‘s Cashew are a newly formed cosmofunk group that explores the boundaries of club culture, world music and 70‘s psychedelia. Their diverse musical background fuses to a colorful vision of their respective genres embedded in a club-like beat framework. Takeshi elevate their often complex arrangements to beautiful composition with a danceable foundation.

During summer 2020 Takeshi‘s Cashew recorded their debut album „Humans In A Pool“ in their tiny DIY studio in Vienna. A journey into cosmic krautrock, cumbia, afrobeat & disco, which can only be surpassed by one of their live performances – for which they teamed up with pojpoj agency, who already feature artists like Khruangbin, l´Eclair and Yin Yin.

Cosmopolitanism is creeping into the bedroom studios of producers worldwide.
Romanski is another agent evolving transcultural hybrids, which blend from retained folkways to modern aged club grooves.

A mixture of electronic beats in a rigid machine order and handmade organic moments woven together to form an eclectic sound. With a bit of drama, the hamburg based dj & producer Romanski, invites you on a diverse journey with his unique vision of club music. 

Balearic groove patterns accompanied by repetitive bongo motives & dimmed synth themes flow along the 4 tracks (2 of them featured on 7" vinyl) of this EP. The title track "Karma Calling" is a passionate homage to Mulatu Astatke, "Tagh Tagh" is surrounded by an iranian children’s song, "Gaugin" features a tahitian vocoder line about the french painter and on "Ants" Romanski reflects on lyrics that came to him when resident at a sanatorium years ago.

We are pleased to announce Slovenian youngster Pavlič's debut release on Moodfamily with a defiant four tracker. Under his previous moniker Paoli, Pavlič graced the music scene with a fresh breeze, introducing an unconventional vision on dance music.

Acoustic sounds and stripped down vocal samples form the essence of his work, while offbeat structures and grooves carry them to musical evocative footprint.

'Mika Communism' kicks off the EP as the soundtrack for a horrific wedding ceremony. Piano, violin, clarinets and synths create an eerie atmosphere, as they are carried on by a waddling groove gently paving the way for 'btob'. In that second track, Pavlič picks up the tempo, carelessly dropping in shy and precarious vocals, designed for intimate parties.

The second half of the EP brings the title track 'In Raise' which starts out offbeat, playfully combined with vocal cuts under the gentle cover of a modest synthesizer, only to build up blossom into a futuristic waltz.

'Slowly Movin' speaks for itself, this slow burner creeps behind the horizon with vocals and vocoders bringing tension as it were dubious clouds moving in while erratic synths glimmer like jagged mountain outlines in the distance.
