created this in 2015/2016. i think it's unfinished but i just felt like posting it today, bc why not :)

i used to be really hard on myself as an artist and nothing i made ever met my standards, so i kept a lot of it buried and eventually just stopped making music. a few years later, i'm kinder and gentler with myself. and i realize that anything i create will be imperfect, but that's okay and beautiful. my creations are an expression of who i am at the moment. here's a slice of me from back then.

written in 2013 for the honestly birthday mixtape. 

this was the first full song i ever wrote, with help from my friend Austin Jose :) it was inspired by a poem I wrote, also titled "honestly," about learning to show my true self and pursue my dreams unapologetically. i just had a tough experience dealing with people who didn't believe in me, and i wrote this as a reminder to be strong and believe in who i am. if you listen to the lyrics, you'll find the foundational ideas behind lavendaire, creating your dream life, and seeing your life as your masterpiece.

the honestly birthday mixtape was a personal project from 2013, a collection of covers & original music that i launched on my birthday on Oct 21, 2013.
