Glacial Dust is the long version of the loop, a stretched out and glacial-sounding ambient piece perfect for relaxation. The degradation of the short version is only slightly noticeable in this, but it adds nice texture and keeps the loop from getting too monotonous.

Part 1 of 2. This first part is mostly delayed guitar on top of an Omnichord backdrop. The guitar radiates over top of the simple base, coming off in waves like a shoegaze song lacking the grime.

A Blowing Wind Howls Against A Stretching Highway

Happy holidays, everyone. Let's hope for a better year on the horizon. 

This is a cover of Simon and Garfunkel's "7 O'Clock News/Silent Night." The song most likely won't be released to streaming services due to it being a cover, but it's available completely for free on the Bandcamp and SoundCloud pages. If you still feel inclined to donate to myself, I have a PayPal under the email arielulyssesca@gmail.com. 

The cover was recorded over the course of 5 days, on and off, finally being finished December 24th, 2020. It is the first song I have created largely within in a digital audio workstation (everything besides the microcassette recordings are from within Ableton Live 10). The news footage being used covers major stories from throughout the past year, including the Australian wildfires in January, the outcome of the impeachment trials back in February, Black Lives Matter protests in May and June, and of course the growing COVID-19 numbers in Alberta. 

I strongly recommend checking out the original and the Phoebe Bridgers cover from last year, recently rereleased on a Christmas singles compilation EP this year. I felt that, with such a rough year, it would be fitting to do something like this.
