Endless Minds of Subtle Nature

You’ll notice this track is all about build up and pay off. And, as it should be. Some of the most memorable remixes are the ones that keep winding up the musical clock until all the gears and cogs go flying out. Usually electronic music artists confuse a repetitive club beat for build up, but Drift Static knows that the wavy M.I.A. flair is enough to bring the heat before the whole dub pot boils over.

The thing I love about this song is that it extracts all the things I like about M.I.A.: lots of attitude, a hip hop swagger and that Sri Lankan flavor. This isn’t just a remix that is interested in showing off the cool eastern sound, it’s also built to make you bob your fucking head. And, that’s what you want to be doing during a song like this. The whole point of this song is to blast it loud, bob your head and feel like a bad ass and that’s what the remix totally accomplishes. In fact, the remix successfully brings the attitude of being a “Bad Girl” to the forefront of the song while riding on that sweet electronic wave.
