Volume 11 

This one maybe lyrical themes about premonitions and trying to work them different...will probably have to write a side Vol out of the responses and so journs wished to be linked in by others .
The side project might get a working title "the bench".
ideas :
- am going to have to write a song called 21 seconds. - when I upload works it sometimes hangs on 21 seconds..
-  the seven dollar deal, gone triple headed. 
-  time loops and time warps and a worm hole on the street outside near the NE corner of the Eternity mans house near Moore Park  (late 2000 on a walk one night and popped out in a back street in Chippendale) all within one bigger loop...the last one was about 12 years...but its longer and different this time, we made some changes, and its all dissipating nicely.

This one, when I listened back, is a bit  sorta Portishead.
Yesterday stumbled across a weird clash of drones type sounds ala later radiohead.
Finding the usefulness and limitations of the melodica ;
1. the keys are small, so can play with greater range,
2. cant go too heavy on the lefthand bass at the same time as doing melodies with the right,because the breath comes in from the left, and there isn't enough air to get volume to the right,
3. piano accordian type sounds, plus also, easy to get good idea of what added on brass arrangements could sound like,
4. using breath can change volume and the "drift in drift out" type sounds.
5. its the cheapest and easiest to carry around piano, there is....this is how my mind goes- a spoof of the Coffee commercial- I just got a funny idea of George Clooney walking into a Coffee shop,  and the piano player in the corner stops and throws himself over the piano....maybe it could Elvis Costello on piano ( really on piano ) ( really really on piano ).  haha.

I recall in early 93. telling Gary, after I tried to do Portishead on flute, that it sounds a bit like woodywoodpecker....he quickly said "don't say that...about Portishead"....I thought, what about Woodywoodpecker ?...anyway as Brett and Colleen cleaned up that conversation...here is putting it all to work, sort of,  again, but different.

Incomplete work. niche genre named in 1993 as Midwest Drifting.
so all other works with genre idea names such as "psycho redneck  " are wrongly named,
and should be, and will be, re-named as "Midwest Drifting".

Influences :  Beck, radiohead, James Taylor,  and a sort of weird uninformed idea of what rockabilly was.

The name Flowers from Leadfoot Fairies or Faeries was derived from a co-writers old band Leadfoot Fairies, and as one of his old co-horts used a name of ours  I was compelled to do likewise, i added the flowers from, because of a premonition of the earthquake in Milan last year, the premonition started during a conversation with brian bennion, about Karma Police and reoccurred during last years writing phase.   the faeries are good i suggested a cockney slang for the canarys ie, as i played and play flute in railway tunnels canarys is a metaphor back to coalmining where the canarys were a warning sign underground.   

version of Hopeless - originally written by Grave Daisies in 1990 - then band had name changes, as the Art Collection in 1991, Lavish in 1992..
Anyway, I have fell into a pattern of doing a re-working of Hopeless in nearly every set and for nearly every change in sound style......I saw Bob Dylan in the 80's at Lang Park in Brisbane, and later read that people go back to see his concerts and that he plays his songs in different styles, 
on each tour....and bands do differing versions of their old ones, live.
I guess its sort of sarcastically ironic, that I chose to suggest to do it with Hopeless....in a sense, "selling" Hope out of Hopeless.

---  while travelling since January 2013. working on Vol III - the lost on the streets - decided id prefer it to be found. followed some ideas originally worked in 1993 - with street scape sounds creating the rythym .  -  one called priceless - origins from the high tide wave wash at Margate Beach Qld. - tried to escape from the concept but its impossible. One from early 2000's the train sounds from the Eastern side of Bellmore Park Sydney. -   then fell into being influenced by my old co- writes including Nirvana, REM, Church, Ride, Coldplay, Snow Patrol.  ( we wrote for all those bands since 1978, then a further write starting in 1992, then it doesnt stop anymore...   other background urbasn street scapes include the old Barracks redevelopment in Brisbane for Bring Them Back In Pieces...recording held by illegal bugging device in my car and my stolen equipment due to the organisation of Brett Anthony Layton....also noted heaps of others for possibles ....Summer Hill train station with a background water dripping type sound...Martin Place concourse and platform excellent ...homebush tunnel north of the train station... waiting rooms at train stations, Clyde - exceptional - for the cain @able stuff because the original draft of the Clint movies was EverywhichwaybutSunday ...remembered original drafts of cowrites that went to Crowded House/Springstein/Fine Young Cannibals and my first band RadioHead it was sup[posed to be kept aside for me, but a fly on the wall (ET Beavis )made more work of it...- but I have the original first song rerecorded, then the second because Beavis was close, then a reworking twist to try to confuse him... and thats how it went in the write in late 1978. ( basically the sound was in response to Crowded House write, ie the basic usual chord sequences pushed one fret apart, then with the Radio Head sounds it was incomplete open chords and the structures pushed one string apart - then added diminished and augmented and odds 5ths 7ths 9ths. with Nirvana it was capo 3rd fret for obvious poetic reason, and the Radiohead sounds started there as well, but then also moved to 5th Fret - Catherine Wheel started with capo on 3rd fret, while my sister had been abducted, and was being abused, and she fought them, she was only in 2nd class primary school, then it went 4th fret, then Beavis went it barr chords and transposed ...[ may 2014 - december 6 micro sd cards srtolen from clovelly under direction of brett layton, then last month my IC recorder stolen from Summer Hill, and before that 2 flute stands from Summer Hill, and last year also 2 flute stands along with fold up chairs cloths and knives from Bondi Junction - people invloved Jenkins- near Queens Park. - and Boyles...so far recorded skeletons to about 30 albums, and been adding to movie outlines all on micro sd cards stolen - in Australia we dont have government support yet ...so come and steal from the the pigs wont even help, because they wont even exert their pub lic servant ethics by demanding politicians to change the Copyright law... instead they smell blood in the water, and send in their grubs. and stand back, drinking the dregs, arguing about when to call an ambulance.... that is what Sydney is, as if it just got off the boat. ) strand late nights at the Train Station Tunnels - and laid back cruisey weekends in Oz. - ( my feet are getting better me - re-occurring Pomflex exma....sorry but we have to hate those bands that stole our works, even though proud of the performers, for me it we were supposed to be paid as per the agreement so that other things could happen. But as yet us co-writers have not been paid and there has been trouble from those who stole and those who dishonoured the agreement. Simon Crean I couldnt care less about, I guess we should all be concerned about the self serving politicians and their lack  and - these days have about 23 volumes of skeletons. 




Incomplete work. for VolXVIII, I think theres another version on an earlier one, but its getting upto near 300 skeletons....its starting to mix and mess and morph into variations of ones I've done before some with old bands.

Had to delete the version of riff from Boo Radley's Barney and Me, to fit. Saw an option in soundcloud earlier somewhere to archive, but I couldn't find it this time.

first band, 6 of us - 1978 - i was sacked, but kept writing anyway, even from my family band, - the write began all saints day 1978 - wommin bay blues - . first song was looking glass - the la's - ...mission was to be bigger than the beatles - the 1978 write of more than a dozen bands, movies - some inventions ( better screw driver, with heads in handle, and rubber ring to hold heads also ) some cures ( laser surgery, organ transplants )... ads, it also went to flags, and shops, and traffic, design - we got the first named freeway in Australia - in planning -
- the 1992 write - pushed it to more than 50 bands, and more than 100 movies, some books, comics, ads, plus all the other stuff. and both writes for me, also involved premonitions about our enemies, and some of us. - from the 1978 write and after the success of ET, I was told that Spielberg has a site in Sydney for a Dreamworks studio, it is in holding, for me. It is the flour mill site Lewisham/SummerHill/Dulwich Hill ( west Lewisham - according to the Light Rail ) I have a concept for the look of it - 4 pillared - -- I was told later that it was too small, but theyll keep it anyway for what I have in mind, and this is it - 4 pillared, modular, underground parking, basement studios as well, ground level, coffee shops, and retail, residential above. it is modular - the main one, a big one  is supposed to go in at Everleigh, modular, at West Lewisham, - and other stuidios invloved too - FOX, Dreamworks, - and whats George upto and others such as Ron Howard/ Guy Ritchie - a sort of bizarre - trilogy - on the move depending on whose got the third for a while - basically a working studio down sized so people can like work from home - right there - so all would need to be inclusive and close by.   -  also the buildings penthouses dont exist - pools and BBQ's and veggie gardens and herb gardens / sub penthouse gym and spas and saunas and lounge areas/ bar / communial cafe, type. solar panelled walls exterior. - ...


The Grave Daisies, then The Art Collection, then Lavish, then Agent 13, busking and vicarious and various happenings.
The Lavish write was most prolific, and started a way to work that is still happening. Latest been living in my car since January 2013. travelling and busking Sydney Brisbane. recording as i go bits and pieces. Went to Bondi again to play the improvised runs on Moondance that was the basis for a collective write ( brett layton - to the bass player of sneaky - to connie ) of one song for Connie - of the Sneaky Sound System - i had to because i did it years ago and some of the old locals remembered so i had to go back and do it again. saw her italian managers - well, they saw me, complicated on takes - as people who have ripped me off send people out to observe or threaten or talk around - ie never humbly directly appreciative of what we have done for them. ...just honouring the agreement of May 1992 is all that is needed - having that legal position defended by the country was harder then anyone could possibly imagine.  I have had groups of people representing UK bands we wrote for sending people out to OZ - to see where to take their take  basically - ...there were weird plays of we ll sign you and set up a band and then you have to work in that band to get paid out of the monies illegally held in a trust run by lawyers that if i were to ask for it directly from them they would play me - is germanic meanings of phrases, never do what I ask of them the way i want - ...i guess people who dont know sometimes see artists doing weird behaviour in their personal lives - its because theyve been stolen from and played by those around them - managers lawyers family members - some turn and run rather than being allowed to peacefully be a moving party.   Still hoping that people will do waht is right - but so far all it has been is that they take it as an opportunity to re-assert a steal rather then defend with humility and humbleness..... zealotic sociopathic criminals  - who set out to try to make a kingaroy nutbag out of everyone.
