Upcoming artist, Lavndrr, is releasing a new single, entitled “You Don’t Know My Name” on May 11, 2023. 

The concept of this song is based on a true story: 

Years ago, Lavndrr was in a Whole Foods in New York City, when she went to the wrong place in the checkout line. As fate would have it, she ended up with a handsome cashier that flirted with her. Being socially awkward at the time, she didn’t know what to say. Instead of flirting back, she bashfully smiled and walked away. She went back to look for him later that night  after a songwriting class. But unfortunately he wasn’t there. Hence the song title, “You Don’t Know My Name.”

The song is like a nod to one of her favorite R&B artists, Alicia Keys, who released a song of the same name in 2003. 

Lavndrr’s “You Don’t Know My Name” blends genres such as Pop, R&B, and Hip-Hop/Rap.

Lavndrr is a musician and songwriter from Philadelphia, PA. Asked to describe her songs personally, Lavndrr calls them, “fun and light, but also introspective.”

Lavndrr’s single “Celebrate,” was released on February 26, 2021. Her tone, style and thematic message on “Celebrate” have made it an anticipated feel-good tune for a variety of audiences.

Talking about the overall themes of her new release, “Celebrate” , Lavndrr writes that it's “dedicated to having the most fun you can while you're on this earth, dedicated to the times before quarantine and COVID-19. It's fun and light and upbeat, and describes getting together with friends…” and simply, “...picking up where you left off.”
