Romans is NOT just an epistle in the Bible authored by Paul. It is NOT just a book about what a Christian can't do in regards to fun in this world. But a manual... Or a pamphlet on how to live free of the enemy within yourself.

Curtis Lavon & Shakira Mitchell met summer 2017 and became friends instantly. They announced their relationship to the world March 2018, and decided to combine not only their love but their gifts of song and poetry. Their 1st single off their couples album "Monogamy" is entitled "Good Thing", a message to the world that Love still exists and is here to stay.

Curtis Lavon Burton (born Sept. 5, 1989), known as Curtis Lavon, is an American poet from Columbia, SC. Lavon embarked on his poetic journey as an artist shortly after 2011 when he suffered a series of heart attacks in Greenville, SC. He stated, "While I was in the hospital, I heard music yet the room was either quiet or full of visitor chatter. And it was like I knew what I needed to do." It would not be until April 2016, until Lavon would release his premier poetic masterpiece entitled "Lipservice." Lavon culminated himself in the arts, after partnering with South Carolina fashion designer Rashaud Cleveland releasing Underground Word Club (UWC) clothing line late 2016 making it unique as it is "Created for artists, by artists, with the artist in mind."

Lavon's second poetic project entitled "Adlibs" (2017) hit the Upstate South Carolina circuit in a frenzy after debuting his spoken word poetry at Coffee Underground's open mic. Lavon is most noted for his storytelling ability and stage presence amongst southern poets. His music's melodic tones enable him to speak on love, faith, and redemption as a man of God in America.

With the assistance of faith in God and the network of the Underground Word Club, Lavon curated a Mixtape/ Musical Movie entitled “Romans” in which the visuals combined with musical content embody a spiritual warfare amongst the everyday reality of American culture. The project’s 1st single, “Romans” was released February 2018 in anticipation to the musical content to be released March 4th, 2018. The visual content will follow with full premier and release May 2018.
