LAV SOL [NO/SWE] create improvised music inspired by electronica,
hip-hop and rock. Influences from The Beatles' Ringo Starr to Aphex Twin's
drum machines are reflected within the feel and energy of the
compositions. The acoustic foundation blends with electronic elements in
the band crew consisting of tuba, synth and drums, all through a rich
library of samples and effects.
With origins from the jazz community in Trondheim, Norway, August
Glännestrand, Heiða Karine Jóhannesdóttir and Håvard Aufles started
playing together in 2021. The group began to experiment with graphic
scores, composing with riffs and creating structures for sections of

improvisations, approaching improvised music from a hip-hop/electronica-
point of view. The result became an audiovisual concert where

improvisation and visuals interact.
