This song plays exclusively during Monster Mix's genocide route. There would be a separate In My Way replacement that functions as the actual encounter theme itself, this song does actively play after you make a move.

I know I used the overworld sprite for this but admittedly it's just because I really liked how this turned out and didn't want it to go to waste and to have to wait for a while.

As Frisk attempts to carve into Papyrus like a jack-o-lantern, Chara hastily jumps into action and pushes Papyrus away, getting hit pretty badly in the process. Except Chara doesn't die. Their soul persists. Against all odds, their will to live and kick some ass far outshines Frisk's own determination.

They take and take, as their hunger for destruction lacks an ending.

They resolve anything and everything by FIGHTing.

Their ways consist of thieving, stealing and taking what's not theirs.

War after war, they destroy and tarnish those who they do not agree with.

All until one side remains triumphant, with the blood of thousands dripping off their palm.

It is as if bloodshed is in their genetic code, passed down like a family heirloom.

One day, a human tethered to ropes in the sky falls into the underground.

Their will is dark, yet not their own.

They lust for blood and do as they please, toying with MONSTERs for eternity.

Fathers and mothers wait for a child that will unfortunately never come home.

Children and parents who stumbled into the wrong person, never to be seen again.

Yet as the smoke clears, a story unfolds.
