Got the Funk (Goth 2)

I got the idea for this track when i realized i could do FM synthesis with Dexed, Virtual Analog Subtractive synthesis with the TAL U-No-60, and sample based synthesis with SQL8, and combine it with my own samples on Cakewalk Drop Zone synthesizer, all using only VSTs within the SONAR DAW. Voila - multi synthesis.

The composition is made of drones on the Dexed, SQL8, and U-No-60, glued together with loops of percussion sounds sampled from a CZ-101, and sampled acoustic hand percussion instruments - tambourine, cabasa, and claves.

Multi Synthesis

I found this unfinished idea on my hard drive and decided to complete it.  The entire composition is made of loops of melodic fragments played with various sampled sounds. As the loops overlap each other the interplay of the different parts creates new complex  rhythms.  The drum beat is made of samples from the Casio MT-65 keyboard rhythms.

Fast / slow 2 (100 bpm, G)

I found this idea on my hard drive and decided to finish it.  The basic track is a drum beat with changing ambience. I added some congas and toms and synth effects and bass for a nice little listening experience.

I myself am just a homebody, but my music gets dressed up and goes out on the town. I also do karaoke. I play synths, keyboards, drums, drum machines, percussion, sing and play blues harp. 

My music is often experimental; i love exploring the capabilities of electronics and technology, and finding those happy accidents that tickle your ears in a new way, little tricks that bring the electronics to life so that they live and breathe and sing for you. 

I am a child of the 60s who grew up singing in church choir. I studied synthesis and recording in college and started playing in Christian rock / praise and worship bands. I have always liked a good dance beat and an electronic sound. Now i make music on computer.
