Announcing his forthcoming BBE compilation ‘A Taste of Chicago’, edit kingpin and DJ par excellence Jamie 3:26 drops a 12” comprising two of his most highly prized cuts.
At the top of many a vinyl digger’s wish-list since its highly limited white label release in 2010, the Jamie 3:26 edit of Calendar’s 1977 disco stepper ‘Comin’ On Strong’ has become the stuff of legend, played to devastating effect by Theo Parrish among others over recent years.
On the flip, Jamie 3:26 heads into classic Chicago House territory with a fiery reworking of impossible-to-find Braxton Holmes banger ‘Stomps & Shouts’, taken from his mythical ‘Cabrini-Greens and Cornbread’ project.

Bolting Bits favorite Ben Gomori, the label head of Sterns Edits, is once again coming out with a new edition of his official Afro Edit series where he and others produce house-friendly versions of some of the best African-influenced music from around the world. For his 5th edition, Ben has decided to rework the talented band Yabba Funk, who are a group of musicians and friends that formed together in 2006 in Brixton. Throughout their time together, they have released two albums with Sterns Music and have performed numerous acclaimed live shows — including support slots for Seun Kuti and Ebo Taylor.

This EP includes an edit and dub from Mr. Gomori himself of Yaaba Funk's track "Hwe Hwe Mu Na Yi Wompena." However, the tune we are spotlighting today comes from Danvers, one half of the duo Kassian, who has been tearing it up on his own on labels such as Curve Records, Boogie Cafe, and Ben's other imprint Monologues. In his latest effort, Danvers takes the infectious energy of "Oman Foa" into a triumphant new direction, with one of his broken beat rhythms at its core — recalling his big summer track 'Aye Ata' which received heavy support from the likes of Gilles Peterson and Midland. With a succinct arrangement that lets the joyous brass and powerfully harmonized vocals shine potently, it's feel-good party music that works wonders when deployed at the right place and time.

Little do we know about Moondance, in fact when these tracks just showed up in the inbox one day, we said ”Moon who?

All we got was a link to a dropbox folder with tracks signed Moondance. One thing is for sure though, the music we got sent speaks volumes and that is why we didn’t hesitate twice when we decided to sign all of them. First up is "Never Found Love".  

Never Found Love comes in two different shapes. While the original is a colourful, rich, and jazzy piano driven house track with a vocal to tie it all together, the Amen Mix is an off-kilter dub inspired version, it sounds like something straight out of a Innerzone Orchestra jam session.
