With well over a decade of exposure to drum & 
bass, and a production career of more than half 
that time, Certified Sickness certainly has seen 
the changes which the scene has undergone. And 
after being a DJ for 14 years, he knows what 
moves a crowd. 

 As well as his own Lay Low Recordings, Certified 
is also part of Higher Level and now is ready to launch At The Brink, a brand new album already supported 
by the likes of Alpha, Jayline, Blackmarket, Blackley, Iron Lung, Levela, Eazy, Rowney, Filthy Habits and many more. 

 The album blends jump up drum & bass with moments of tech 
and deep house. Opener Devil Weed, featuring Stormin fills your 
speakers and your brain with sound, booming out of the box to 
set up At The Brink perfectly. How We Party, alongside Midway, 
is equally strong, laying things down low for some reggae-infused 
jump up badness. CS and MC Shabba then comment on the 
Music Monopoly, surrounded with razor sharp electronics and 
searing bass drops. Not to be messed with, Certified Sickness has 
compiled a first rate album which the ravers will love. 

The album’s house tracks are We Can Feel It and the fittingly-
titled House Music. They both show that CS is no one-sided 
producer, and has many facets to his sound and influence. House 
Music especially is sweeping, deep and leaves you feeling good. 
Back on the d&b tip, the title cut is pure fire, with rolling beats 
and sharp, funky low end dominating the track. So Strong 
features Complex, with nice touches of liquid and techstep in the 
mix. Again showing his range, Certified Sickness comes through on the track with power, precision and a 
sense of purpose which pervades the entire performance. 

Stranger provides the remix of Without Knowledge, a swarming, swampy beast of a tune, and there’s still 
time for the jungle vibes of Dancing Shoes, featuring Damage Report, before the closing sounds of 
Genetics and the massive Spit Venom with MC Element.
