TWO LEFT EARS are two musicians from Paris and Lille who are to release their second LP on Laybell.
Their sound is a fusion between an electronic cookery soaked with classical, improvised, experimental and hip hop music produced byExtra Pekoe and a doublebass played by a musician with a classical background, Mathieu Deprez.
The string instrument acts as a haunting resonance and satellites are stiring around : samples, beats, synth, voices and disto.
In 2010, Two Left Ears released its frst album « Lazy Trace » digitally (and physically in Japan) on Laybell which raised the interest of many electronic music columnists.
Two Left Ears toured in the US then shared gigs in Europe with Gonjasuf, Cut Chemist, Luke Vibert, Gold Panda, Gangpol Und Mit...
Playing live, the band is a quatuor featuring a japanese-american singer (Asako Fujimoto) with a ethereal voice, and a v-jay (Flashbacker) sampling videos in real-time (with mini- cameras and controllers) mimicking the performance of a musician.
The band is about to release its 2nd album *divAAAtion* which will be available in digital and vinyl versions on March 30th 2012 . It’s an exploration of the minimal classical and experimental music of the 20th century (Górecki, Arvo Pärt, William Basinski, Meredith Monk), loaded with rythmical and low-f experimentations. The release of the second album should confrm Two Left Ears as new path openers in the actual electronic music scene.
