The latest edition of our free download series welcomes Hugo Cantarra and PLN with their rework of ‘Intro’ by The XX. Hailing from France, Hugo Cantarra has been a fixture of the house music underground for the better part of a decade. On the strength of early releases via Armada and SIZE Records, Hugo established a sound that was both memorable and club-effective, propelling him to subsequent projects via Anjunadeep, Cr2, Siona Records and Ultra; amongst others. Now a staple of the melodic house scene, the French artist has the distinction of racking up 41 millions streams and 1.5 million shazams, while remixing the likes of Danny Howard, Eli & Fur, Gorgon City and Technotronic, in turn earning the praise of Adriatique, Blondish, Camelphat, Chris Avantgarde, Kevin De Vries and Vintage Culture. Also a well-travelled DJ, Hugo has shared the booth with a bevy of top international tastemakers in Adam Beyer, Carl Cox, Guy Gerber, David Guetta, Fatboy Slim, Meduza, Roger Sanchez and WhoMadeWho. A highlight and much requested track across Hugo’s 2024 gigs has been a rework of ‘Intro’ by The XX. Written in conjunction with elusive Polish artist and bootleg aficionado PLN, the duo’s rework has been a festival and club highlight this past year, championed by the likes of Eli & Fur who premiered it at the Yuma tent at Coachella to a resounding response, as well as Cosmic Gate, Korolova and Vintage Culture. Known for her ability to fuse deep, progressive house with eclectic influences, Sinca’s journey is shaped by her multicultural background and rich artistic history. Growing up in a French-Canadian and Peruvian household, she found early inspiration in her diverse roots, which continues to inform her dynamic sound. 

The end of 2024 saw Sinca reach new creative heights, beginning with her debut on Bedrock Records via a remix of John Digweed and Nick Muir’s iconic ‘Santiago’. Her year was a whirlwind of unforgettable performances at renowned All Day I Dream showcases in New York and Ibiza, as well as gigs in Miami, Toronto, Berlin, Paris, and San Diego. Sinca’s festival appearances included Coachella on the DoLab Stage, Anjunadeep Explorations in Albania, Osheaga Festival in Montreal, Sziget Festival in Hungary, Beyond The Pines Festival in Minnesota, M DGTL in Quebec, and a memorable set at Burning Man. 

Capping off a stellar year, Sinca was recognized in 1001 Tracklists’ The Future of Dance 2024 feature and played alongside legends Guy J and Henry Saiz during Bedrock’s ADE showcase. She also served as a judge at the Demolition XXVII panel, showcasing her expertise and dedication to the craft. 

As 2025 unfolds, Sinca is set to make waves with a packed schedule of performances and new music releases. With her ‘Hideaway’ bootleg setting the tone for the year, fans can expect even more captivating projects from one of electronic music’s most promising rising stars.
