The Voyage

Original song about the true story of my tiny 4'11" pioneer grandma, Amy Loader, dancing in the snow to help her girls get out of bed when she had just lost her husband on the trek and her daughters were on the brink of starvation and freezing. I was told this lovely, inspiring story from a tiny girl and decided to write a song about it.

To help her start a fire

But not one could find desire

Mama pursed her lips
“Girls, this simply will not do!"
She put her tiny hands on hips   
"I’ll have to dance for you!"

To bravely face our trials

Becoming Mother

Error enthralls in the bonds of iniquity
Flattering tongues love a lie
Misleading minds love denying reality
Injustice rules every mind 

Soothing false smiles all around, no integrity

The Lion's Roar

This song was written 3 years ago and is about the beginning of my process of coming to understand that though God’s mysteries and knowledge are essential to come to comprehend for salvation, they will not benefit before sincere repentance and constant improvement of one's character. I fell into many traps of seeking deep and hidden mysteries (with the intent to feel better about myself without actually becoming a better person) before developing a character that could dicern truth from error and I fell into darkness for a time. Thankfully, God sent me angels to help me, as I called out to him and sincerely desired his help and forgiveness. He healed me and saved my life in every way. Now that I am seeking to improve my character each moment and submitting to God's will in all things, and becoming more and more like Jesus in every aspect of my character, he can teach me more about his mysteries and deep knowledge in their purity, because I have repented and committed to improve myself with my Savior each moment. I thank God for his mercies and the gift of his Son, Jesus Christ, the Good Shepherd, who reached out his hand and saved me from hell, as I chose to reach out my hand, yield my heart to God, and faithfully walk with him for the rest of my life and for eternity.
