This beat is a rework of a very old beat, and was actually a throwaway when I first made it: I never remixed anything over it and just uploaded it with some vocals from ‘The Wire’ layered over it at points. I was gassed when I worked out the Redman remix using this, and it makes sense cause thinking back on it, I actually sampled the same Bob James song which is used on the beat for Redman’s song ‘Can’t Wait’, so it fit his style well. I also knew I had to switch it up and lower the pitch to really bring out the low end for this one, cause it wouldn’t be a hardcore hip hop vibe without that, and I’m really glad I did it for this one. I wanted the drums and bass to come in super hard for the switch up, so I did a lot of layering to make sure that would be possible.
