so phresh: hits of the lockdown un-summer 2k21, vol. 3

I got frustrated learning how to use my new DAWs and MIDIs, by the time I had learnt how to do something or failed at it, I was too exhausted to even make music.
I realised that I wasn't doing myself any favours, music has always been about making something out of passion, out of a positive feeling, and so I started up my new piano plugin my friends gave me for my birthday, and I played 2 notes, which you hear at the start of this piece. 
I did this a few years ago to remember what comes afterwards, I hope this piece is a version of that LOL. I recorded it all in the week, did a few takes, made a few alterations, and here it is. 
It was originally conceived on my auntie's off-tune upright piano that we were minding for them, luckily I had the opportunity to practise and get used to playing it. It was a lot easier to think about what I was going to play when all the rain and thunder was providing the backdrop.
And so, I made it a big thing in this piece. 

With all the chaos that's happening around the world right now and even in Victoria, I needed an escape, I needed to be transported somewhere else.
I reminisce about the times when I used to live in Mt Dandenong. I didn't like being far away from everything, but now I see how much I didn't appreciate it at the time. The sound of nature from the silence of the world.

And so I hope this takes you, Listener, to somewhere else...even just for a moment...
