Originally released (and SOLD OUT) on 7" vinyl, "Lazy" and "Fallen" were put out before the release of the bands debut album.   These songs have never been available online or on DSPs.  Two of the first songs written by the band, that showcase their original Jazz and Big Band roots whilst underlining their continued originality from inception.  If you wanted to get one of these records at the time you had to come to a show or buy a copy from UK Underground Hip Hop store "Suspect Packages".

Originally released on a 4 track EP, "ON My Way" and "Small Screen" were put out before the release of the band's debut album, with other songs from the EP re-recorded for the album proper.   These songs have never been available online or on DSPs.  This is another example of the evolution of the band's sound.  "On My Way"  was a statement of intent at the beginning of the journey and the sentiment still rings true a decade later.

The Wagon EP was the last release by the band before the debut album was released, with other songs from the EP re-recorded for the album proper.  These songs have never been available online or on DSPs, and are the last of "The DeLorean Protocol" series. This is another example of the evolution of the band's sound.  At the time we received great reviews for the first EP in general with some in the UK Hip Hop scene saying the band's sound was perhaps not heavy enough to fit.   The Wagon EP was proof that was not the case and the band would not be conforming with the rules of any type of scene or genre, with "Sanity for Sanctuary" eventually re-recorded for their 2016 sophomore album "The Atrocity Exhibition"

CTRL is about buying the a dream and living the reality.   It features a 13 piece orchestra and was one of the first songs written for the album.  The video was shot in Taiwan in an abandoned retro-futuristic beach front resort.

Inspired by New Orleans jazz, soul, hip hop, Big Bands of the 50’s and soaked in British Culture their eclectic sound packs a lasting and unforgettable punch, with the band describing themselves as "Beats, Rhymes and Brass of the highest calibre”

Formed in 2005 and originally the brainchild of one MC, the Hackney based outfit now stand as a full eight piece band who’s onstage energy is a colossal live experience that will keep you buzzing long after you’ve left the venue.

Having notched up shows at Shepherd’s Bush Empire, The Roundhouse, KOKO and venues up and down the UK, supporting the likes of Mos Def, Soulwax, The Specials, Bonobo, Chali 2Na (Jurrasic5) and Beardyman, Lazy Habits have won hearts and blown minds, proving they can take on any stage.

 They've smashed Glastonbury with their live performances, hosted and DJ'd on “The Other” and “Jazz World” stages, ticking off slots at Bestival, Secret Garden Party and Edinburgh Festival along the way.

2011 sees them travel even further afield including festival performances in Latvia, Croatia, Taiwan and The French Alps as well as a full UK tour.


Their debut self-released EP “On the Wagon” put the Habits on the radar of Taste Maker Huw Stephens, and blew up on the underground scene, selling out on pre-orders alone. Their follow up single “Even Out” introduced them to a wider audience and was used on commercially released cinema and TV productions both domestically and Europe wide. 

Championed by Eliza Doolittle, Paloma Faith and a host of BBC radio DJ’s, including Huw, this lot will defy you not to be on your playlist in 2011.
