The installation "The Tree of Lives" seeks to think about connection through words. Leaving a trace of oneself, for oneself and another. Connecting, moving from the self to the whole. 

In the form of a participatory work: about a hundred people wrote their own gratitudes and wishes for the future on cloth beforehand. 
The words written in the Tree of Lives are superimposed on each other, they come together and become almost illegible, but they continue to exist as a common prayer, in unison. Its structure is composed of transparent fabric drapes, hardened with flour glue, which take the form of a network of interconnected branches and invade the architectural structure of the exhibition space. These drapes of branches are enriched by a light installation, which creates an immersive atmosphere, between translucence and radiation.

The composer and opera singer Lucie Cure accompanies the installation with a sonic scenery of sound textures in which she incorporates four poems read aloud by their authors :

Tree of Lives (Art installation - music extract)

Invoking Melpomene, is a hybrid opera performance extract, performed at Les Beaux Arts de Paris. The piece invites the audience to awaken the artist within themselves through voice and motion by invoking inspiration, and the desire to create and express.

A music score composed for 3 a cappella voices exists, feel free to reach out if interested to sing or conduct it yourself.

This extract is an introduction to a 15min performance by Lucie Cure, part of the exhibition 'Chère Melpomène' at Les Beaux-Arts de Paris in April 2025. 

"A voice in motion invokes the Muse, in a sound immersion where space, works, and bodies resonate together. Everyone is invited to internally call upon their source of inspiration, and why not, let their own voice blend into a guided collective invocation. By creating a bridge between classical music and current concerns, we explore the universality of human emotions, linking the muses of the past with the inspirations of today.”

Invoking Melpomene

Our Reflections is an electronic composition including midi stems and diverse voice aesthetics used as soundscapes / instruments. This extract is part of a 18minutes composition and has been performed by Lucie Cure at La Caserne in Paris & at Mayhem in Denmark. A short movie version has been screened at the Huset in Copenhagen. The video & performance are part of a co-artistic direction with visual artist Yoanna Bochowski. 

The piece is exploring the deep connection between humans and trees. It reflects on how trees, like humans, have their own intricate lives, communication systems, and emotional responses to their environments. It is a mirror like connection. Through this composition, Lucie aims to highlight the beauty, fragility & resilience of nature, inviting listeners to experience the wisdom of trees and the urgency of preserving them.
