Upsilon Acrux is an instrumental quintet (dual guitars, keyboards, bass and drums). Their music is generally very intense, loud, hard-hitting and unbelivably virtuosic. Upsilon Acrux's music is demanding on many levels, but mostly it demands that you listen to it a number of times before forming an opinion, because only after you've gotten familiar with it can you get past the sheer complexity and onslaught of it all and hear the amazing musicality of what they are doing. This combination of blazingly fast, interwoven musical lines delivered at blinding speed mixed with their unique melodic sense makes Upsilon's music instantly recognizable. They are one of the most creative and original of the shockingly large number of great post-punk, avant-garde rock bands today. This is their sixth album of explosive, intense and surprisingly beautiful intricate, instrumental rock music.

DJ KRUSH 20th Anniversary Project "Monthly Single Series" #10 (Available on 27th June'12) 

The monthly single release cuts that commenced last September as a project commemorating the 20th anniversary of KRUSH’s solo career, unlike his strictly conceptual albums, is a series of tunes, each with its own concept, and gives a freedom to go for various looks and flavas that push boundaries further out in depicting his world of sounds even more precisely. And here comes the last shot of this series, a tune that’s been integrated into his live set a lot, creating a buzz amongst his fans around the globe. It’s quite fast in tempo compared to other KRUSH tunes, but has those distinctive “in-between spaces,” “phatness,” “roughness,” and “depth” co-existing to complete his world & wrap up this phase of the project.

So this series sees its end after 10 tunes (10 long months), and needless to say, the countdown to the long-long awaited new album has begun (the album will basically be totally different from the tunes in this serial project). Details tba. A new chapter begins, and you are far from leaving your eyes off of DJKRUSH. 

ソロ活動２０周年プロジェクトとして、昨年９月よりスタートしたマンスリー・シングル・シリーズ。アルバムの様に大きなテーマに基づいての曲構成ではなく、それぞれの曲ごとに単体のコンセプトを持ち合わせ、曲調やカラーなども曲毎に良い意味で自由にまとめあげることにより、現在のDJ KRUSHの様々な世界感を余すことなく提示してきたこの企画もいよいよ完結を迎える。本シリーズの最後を飾るのは、ここ数年、高い確立でプレイリストにも組み込まれ、各所で問合せや反響の大きな１曲。KRUSH作品の中では比較的アップテンポな曲調だが、独特の"間"や"厚み"、"荒さ"、"深み"が同居するKRUSHならではの世界感が詰まった作品となった。

本作を含めて１０曲(１０カ月)に渡り続いてきた本シリーズもこれにて完結を迎え、いよいよ待望のソロアルバム(基本的には本シリーズ楽曲陣とは全く違う内容を予定)へのカウントダウンが始まった。詳しい情報は随時発表される予定。新たな章の幕開けとともに、まだまだDJ KRUSHから目が離せない。
