I wrote this in 20 minutes ago and just wanted to put it out - it's not mixed or mastered or anything but I just thought "why the fuck not"?? I've been very choked up for a long time about putting stuff Out There, often really reluctant to until it's flawless but I've recently realised that that day may never come and that I can't live my whole life keeping secrets until perfection arrives because what a waste of time that would be.

The cover art is a painting that I saw at MCR Art Gallery a year or so ago and couldn't get out of my head (description below) and a few months ago I found a postcard of it framed in a charity shop, with some hidden relationship memorabilia in the back from someone else's relationship and now I love it even more.

"Sappho was a Greek lyric poet born circa 600 BC. She wrote about love, yearning and reflection, often dedicating her poems to the female pupils who studied with her on the island of Lesbos. According to legend, she threw herself herself into the sea from the cliff of Leucadia on account of her unrequited love for Phaon, a young man from Mitylene. [...] The expanse of sky is storm grey, broken only by a sliver of light on the horizon."

a moody bassy boi this one. feels like a quite well rounded song this, trying to not over complicate songs atm and try make each part sound great. Still finding mastering a weird process and not sure if mastering your own stuff is good practice, its hard to stay objective for sure.

Snailed it

Bit different to anything I've made so far this one. I absolutely love the song Dark Jewel by Gallops and i think this song is partly influenced by that tune. 

Still using basic ableton bits and bobs.
