Campaigners have threatened legal action against Camden Council over its decision to introduce stricter busking laws.

The Association of Street Artists and Performers – ASAP – have urged them to reconsider or face a review of their policy in the High Court.

The plans follow an increase in noise complaints and could see unlicensed buskers being fined up to £1000 or having their instruments taken away.

Nikhita Chulani has more from the North London borough.

***UPDATE 11/03/14: The High Court has upheld Camden busking restrictions, with the Judge saying the policy introducing fines of up to £1,000 for busking without a licence is 'necessary and proportionate'.***

There were protests as 10 firestations across London closed.

The closures should save 28.8 million pounds, but the loss of over 500 firefighters for the capital.

More young people are using anonymous apps, but they could lead to an increase in cyber-bullying – that’s according to a leading UK charity.

Apps like Shortwave, Whisper and Secret let users share pictures and thoughts without people knowing it’s them and technology bloggers say they could be the next big trend.
