"Over the Rooftops" is a raw 1980s German post-punk style anthem capturing the desperate yearning for freedom amid urban oppression. Vivid verses paint gray streets, pale uniform faces flickering in illusory windows, and the city's scars on skin, building to explosive choruses demanding to soar like a bird above concrete—shattering chains, doubts, and confinement. A tense bridge of falling through time and space leads to a triumphant reprise where the world below remains intertwined as the narrator escapes unbound.
