I am really pleased to release this 25 minute soundscape curated over a long period of time in collaboration with Belgian artist Hans Thomas.

The project developed through discovering each others musical tastes on soundcloud. The track is comprised solely from our guitar input utilising various software from Logic to Max/MSP.

Inspired by my trip to Berlin, I've tried something out of my comfort zone, whilst also learning Ableton.  Lot's to learn and improve on, and I would really appreciate constructive feedback, enjoy!

Intended for or likely to be understood by only a small number of people with a specialised knowledge or interest: 

The album itself encompasses the last four years trying to develop a musical style originating from University were I developed a keen interest in exploring what I can do to my guitar signal via various processes. I feel this album has a lot of emotion as it is very intrinsic, hence the title. The last track also symbolises someone important and life changing.

I'm not sure what direction I'm taking my music but I hope to plan for a mixed album covering the genres that I enjoy.

The signal chain is being process via ableton running max4live modules I developed a while back.

Audiomulch is running granular delay.

The iphone is controlling OSC data to glitch the output via max/msp.

The piece ends with a hypnotic blend of synths, guitar and piano loops - the main guitar melody has a different approach to track one and brings the composition full circle.

Cyclothymia III

To give contrast to the composition I wanted the middle section to develop with a beat and vocal sample - this helped to give the piece dynamics and correlate with the overall theme of variation in mood.

For the first track I blended my own samples and field recordings with my usual guitar layers, combined with chords/loops from an old Yamaha PSS-360.

To develop the track and bring an emotive element to the piece, a melancholic guitar solo modulated by effects pierces the background textures.

Cyclothymia I

Pareidolia (/pærɪˈdoʊliə/ parr-i-DOH-lee-ə) is the tendency for incorrect perception of a stimulus as an object, pattern or meaning known to the observer, such as seeing shapes in clouds, seeing faces in inanimate objects or abstract patterns, or hearing hidden messages in music.

My second album released under the Lcoma alias - completed during lockdown were I had time to focus on new material/ideas. Composed using a MOOG grandmother - KORG BEATS drum machine - Fender telecaster - Fender Amplifier (Superchamp x2) - James Neligan Acoustic - A select number of samples.

Recorded/Mixed in Ableton Live.
