A tape that the legendary J gave me of DJ Julie at one of his incredible mid-90's acid parties called The Sirius Connection at the Melkweg, Amsterdam.  Have absolutely caned this tape, is possibly one of the most influential mixes on my music tastes.  To this date I have no idea about what some of the tracks are and if anyone knows please trainspot away for me.

This mix came about after a keyword search on Spotify for 'Covid-19'
Despite at time of writing the virus only impacting humanity for a couple of months I found 1000s of tracks referencing the virus.

So, one bored locked-down evening I decided to make a mix of tracks exclusively titled  'Covid-19' (except the last track) but by different artists and the 30 or so i put in this mix represent different styles, genres, countries and cultures all touched and maybe inspired to make music by the effects of the virus, and all in lock-down just like me, just like you.

A couple of observations on what I discovered:

1) Trap and Hiphop is dominant for naming a track 'COVID-19'.  It's mostly very generic autotuned stuff.  Don't get me wrong, there's nothing in principle wrong with autotune when not done in a lazy manner.

2) There are lots of people using Spotify and music more generally to just describe their experience of the virus or lockdown using rap or otherwise.  Dark times can inspire dank music.

3) This is predominantly electronic music, but I did come across plenty of guitar oriented music too.  I made a playlist of over 700 similarly named tracks.  Feel free to plunder from it.

4) It's not intended to be a ravey mix but do feel free to dance when it gets ravey.  Not going to apologise for this.  Can listen to hard acid tekno for hours.  

5) It's intended to be poignent and not somehow making light of the situation.  It helped me get me through some lockdown by keeping me occupied.

All tracks are copyright of their owners and I only post this as a concept piece.  Really happy about how it came out, since I have no mixing equipment set-up aside from Audacity.
