I was so nervous before I started playing, but once I began and seeing all the beautiful people swaying to the sounds in front of the booth, I felt nothing but love. The warm feeling you all gave me determined the trackselection so that's probably why there were a bunch of 70's vibe tracks in it.
Afterwards when I was (completely exhausted) sitting on the couch outside, a bunch of people came to me with such sweet compliments and one guy in particular told me that i played a bunch of tracks which made him want to come up on stage and hug me
I hope we'll all meet again very soon and wanted to express my thanks to  everyone who was there at the party and stayed there untill the early hours for all the hugs and all the love
Special thanks goes out to @konchord, @farn-berlin and @deep_schismic for inviting me and making me feel as welcome as you guys did. You all did an amazing job.

Diá de Muertos

Am Tag der Toten ist meine Stadt lebendiger als jemals sonst. Ist der Tod nicht ein Grund zur Trauer? Für manche mag das zutreffen, aber hier bei uns in Chilpancingo, einer 180.000 Seelen Stadt im Süden Mexikos, handhaben wir das anders. 
Die Menschen sind auf den Straßen unterwegs, von überallher schallt Gelächter, Musik und Singsang. Sie tragen bunte Kleider, Trachten oder sind als Skelette kostümiert. Wohin man auch schaut, alles erinnert farbenfroh gestaltet an die Vergänglichkeit des Lebens. Die Stimmung ist gut und ausgelassen und in kollektiver Heiterkeit gedenken wir den Verstorbenen.
Neben den unzähligen Augenweiden kommt auch der Magen, für uns und die Toten, nicht zu kurz. Traditionell serviert Mamá Atole (Maismehl Brei) und getrunken wird vorzüglicher Pulque (alkoholisches Süßgetränk aus Agavensaft), für uns Jüngere gibt es heiße Schokolade. Geschlossen, mit der gesamten Familie geht es vor dem Schmausen zum Friedhof. Dort wird für die verstorbene Verwandtschaft ein Altar aufbereitet. Es werden kulinarische Opfergaben, bzw. kleine Stärkungen für die Geister der Toten bereitgestellt, Kerzen entzündet und alte Fotos platziert. Nach dem Besuch der letzten Ruhestätten geht es dann in die Innenstadt. Dort schließen wir uns einem der vielen Troße an und tanzen mit den anderen Feiernden. Das macht immer einen heiden Spaß und ich genieße das ausgelassene Treiben bis spät in die Nacht. Dann treffen wir uns alle bei uns Zuhaus und es wird wieder gegessen. So wie eigentlich die ganze Zeit. Nach der letzten Mahlzeit kommen dann alle noch einmal zur Ruhe und gedenken im stillen der Toten. Danach gehen die meisten schlafen, die alten Herren sitzen noch beisammen und trinken weiter Pulque und reden über die guten alten Zeiten. Ich soll dann immer ins Bett, dass ist auch okay so, denn der Diá de Muertos erstreckt sich noch über die nächsten zwei Tage.

Mit den Jahren verstand ich immer mehr den Sinn dieser Feierlichkeiten. In unserer Kultur und unserem Glauben gehört der Tod zum Leben dazu, wie die Geburt. Deshalb feiern wir vom 31. Oktober bis zum 2. November alle Verstorbenen und machen uns ihrer bewusst. Und wenn man in einem Moment der Stille ganz andächtig lauscht, hört man die Geister liebevoll unsere Namen flüstern und sich für respektvoll für unsere Mühen bedanken. 

Dugkar erzeugt für die 101 eine wunderbar muntere und hispanisch klingende Stimmung. Das gesamte Set ist durchzogen mit wohlklingenden Vocals und erinnert thematisch sehr an die südamerikanische Tradition des Totenfestes. Wir wünschen Euch weiterhin einen angenehmen Abend und optimales Hörvergnügen bei heißem Wetter.

There are a lot of people going through difficult times right now, as it has gotten a lot harder to escape the confrontation with all that ugliness and hate lately. Bamba’s way out was to dream through music. His mix sets hope, that better days will come. It is meant as a reminder that we all are still connected through music and hopefully always will be.
