This Merkaba episode features a live set titled "Incantations" by SESEN aka Marilena Samantoura, a widely experienced musician from Athens, Greece. Her journey producing electronic music began in 2005 and she has been creating versatile psychedelic soundscapes that invite either relaxation or gentle movement. Her debut album ‘Juju’ on Merkaba Music, defined as a cognitive expedition to the folklore, bizarre incantations and rituals across the magical lands of the African West Coast, is a wonderful result of these years digging into sound. Expect a deep journey through distinct sonic details with emotional charms, characteristic of this creative Greek artist. This live set contains tracks from SESEN's last album and older tracks as well.

💿 Sonnengruß an Petrus 💿

💭 Dieser Sommer ist einer von der sturen Sorte. Irgendwie ist er präsent, doch so ganz will er sich nicht zeigen. Seit einer gefühlten Ewigkeit geben sich Regen und Sonne abwechselnd die Klinke in die Hand. Mal zeigt sich ein strahlend blauer Himmel, dann türmen sich wieder dunkle Wolkenberge. Für die meisten ist dieses Wetterspiel unangenehm. Die Planbarkeit für Outdoor-Aktivitäten ist eingeschränkt und das führt insbesondere im Hochsommer zu Herausforderungen. Auf der anderen Seite sind Wettervorhersagen allzu oft ungenau, von Plattform zu Plattform unterschiedlich und verursachen, tendenziell miese Stimmung. Solche Prognosen sind mit Vorsicht zu genießen, das reale Wetter leider auch. Wir wünschen uns mehr Sonne für diesen Sommer. Dankeschön ❤️

🎵 Der heutige Podcast ist ein musikalisches Machwerk von Leorion. Bei ihm handelt es sich um einen Musikaktivisten durch und durch. Soso Klein music is just like her dance style: bouncy, groovy, with a large spectrum of what the downtempo style can show. Originally from France, in the rich downtempo scene from Berlin she settled down and played since 2022 at popular downtempo parties in the renowed clubs Kater Blau, Wilde Renate, Kitkat, Beate Uwe or Mensch Meier with, among others, the collectives Rebellion der Träumer or Mystic Creatures. With an infectious joyfulness on the stage, she mixes melodic & dark disco beats punctuated by
lighter, floating melodies to create colourful DJ sets.
It's with this contrast between apparent softness and bouncy beats, between funky, melodic & dark,
that she chose her artist's name, meaning "so-so little" in german. Expect to be surprised and put on
good shoes, it's gonna groove!
