Tethered Bones

Having spent the last 12 months refining their sound and building a powerful live show supporting the likes of Bonobo, Yacht, Giraffage, Classixx, Rüfüs, Kilter and The Kite String Tangle, Flamingo are set to release their debut E.P ‘Heavy Steps’ in April 2014 following considerable interest in their first offering; ‘Heart, My’. 

Expect dreamy synths, swaying drums and hypnotizing vocals.

La Mar are a Sydney based, two piece electronic project who’s music hinges on the relationship between singer Dylan Wright, and keyboardist / producer, Andrew Grant.

The duo spent a large part of this year writing and finding the foundation for their music and collecting sounds, such as Grant’s dusty old FenderRhodes that kicks off their debut single, “Anchor.” The mixdown on “Anchor,” was delicately handled by producer Craig Wilson (Flume, New Navy, LDRU, Yahtzel), at the legendary, REC studios.

The EP finishes off with Mazde’s tasteful spin on “Anchor,”
in what sounds less like a remix, and more of an interpretation of sounds. Following “Shifted Thoughts,” Mazde carefully creates a unique track, appealing to only the most cultured of ears.

Seeing through the creative process right to the end, Jack Vanzet aka Thrupence (Future Classic) did the stunning oceanic cover art.

Anchor

We are deep in the writing process post-exams and pre-Splendour In The Grass. We recently got hold of this really great old National organ and have spent days just writing out jams with nothing but it and an old MPC. 

Slow Burning is a really mellow vibe that came really out of one session, finding some interesting patches and a swung out vibe. We could have held onto it and labored over it for days and weeks but we just unanimously thought in the afternoon, lets just put this out there?
