Pete Tong and Goom Gum join forces to deliver ‘Signal’… Pete Tong is a man who needs absolutely no introduction; recently awarded the Music Industry Trust Award in recognition of outstanding contribution, it’s fair to say he has been electronic music’s foremost global ambassador. So, it’s fitting he’s looked overseas, specifically Russia, on his latest collaboration to join forces with Goom Gum, a duo who are now at the vanguard of the country’s burgeoning dance scene.

Pete explains how the project came about, “I’d been a growing fan of Goom Gum and ended up signing their re-version of Depeche Modes’ ‘Master & Servant’ to TSZ Recordings, a new label I started in 2019. Just before the pandemic the guys sent me a rough sketch of ‘Signal’ and asked if I wanted to collaborate. After playing it out a few times and adding some ideas and arrangement changes, I dropped it in Tulum and the crowd went crazy, which I was grateful to experience because it was one of my last big shows before lockdown.”

“We’re delighted Pete came onboard for ‘Signal’”, Goom Gum continue, “His support of our work has been amazing, but to get to actually work together was beyond our wildest expectations. His experience and insight helped craft the track into a total dancefloor bomb. We’ve been road testing it at our gigs lately and, trust us, it works!”

But the track’s evolution doesn’t end there. Inspired by the Tulum party, Pete hit upon the idea of creating a version dedicated to the Mexican clubbing mecca at, of all places, a dinner party! “At my house in LA we had a Moroccan room and my wife used to throw these incredible soirées. One night we even had a belly dancer and an amazing percussionist called Marc El Khouri. I played him ‘Signal’ (he loved it) and asked him to record some authentic percussion and tabla sounds inspired by my DJ set - and the Tulum version was born!”, he exclaims.

The project’s global theme is enhanced further with remixes from Berlin’s Anja Schneider and another fast-rising Russian star, Bora Uzer. Anja displays real studio prowess by delivering two different remixes, the electronica inspired ‘Break The Signal’ alongside a wonderfully warm ‘Deep Code’ version, which returns to 4/4 and a sound redolent of clubbing in the German capital; whilst Bora’s mix injects a real dose of energy and emotion to further cement its peak time credentials.

“We’re so happy to finally release ‘Signal’”, Pete and Goom Gum conclude in unison, “we had nowhere to play it for 18 months so can’t wait to get it out there.”

A leading figure in the underground dance scene and progressive house fraternity, Dmitry Molosh has seen a stratospheric rise to prominence over a stellar career that dates back more than a decade. Since a 2011 debut on You So Fat Records, over 600 production credits have found their way onto the finest independent dance labels as the Belarusian has seen his distinctive blend of mesmerising rhythms and unforgettable melodies create energy and emotion across global dancefloors. Work signed to Cid Inc.’s Replug, Hernan Cattaneo’s Sudbeat Music and Guy Mantzur’s Plattenbank have lit up clubs along with a host of music for the likes of Proton Music, Deepwibe Underground and the iconic Afterglow Records.

With such an impressive portfolio on a plethora of prominent imprints, it is no surprise to see Dmitry’s music omnipresent in the sets of leading DJs with support coming from such respected figures as Nick Warren, Guy J, Khen, Eric Prydz and Max Graham. The result is an artist whose work transcends the borders of his homeland with a global reach and iconic status.

Returning to Proportion after January 2022’s eponymous debut and May’s “Small Wonders” with Dutch master, Navar, Dmitry Molosh opens 2023 with the spellbinding “Shining”. Redolent in trademark rhythmic vibrancy, a rolling percussive groove and syncopated bassline provide the perfect foundation for a delicious combination of melodic elements to combine in sparkling fashion. Textured pads, delicate arpeggios and delay-infused lead blend together to create a magical sonic picture. Emotion is aroused by sublime key changes plus spine-tingling and white-noise infused breakdown that provides a perfect pause for breath before dropping back into the rhythmic intricacy and melodic dynamism that waxes and wanes with ease.

Powered by a chest-thumping kick and ticking offbeat hi-hats, “Watercolour” paints a spectacular picture with foundations built upon an imaginative bassline sequence and bright synth counterpoint. Gradually opening up with filtered energy and pitched dual-oscillator brio at the breakdown, its ever-present characteristic sees a track rich in texture with a fiery club-friendly vibe that will appeal to the worldwide DJ elite.

alongside frequent production partner Jorgio Kioris, Da Luka's creative vision would summon the praise of progressive music tastemakers Cid Inc, Guy J, Eelke Kleijn, Hernan Cattaneo, Nick
Warren and more, in turn leading to releases via Droid9, Juicebox Music, Movement Recordings and WARPP. Meanwhile, Indian born, Singapore based artist Aman Anand has enjoyed similar success across his eleven-year career. With a cutting-edge style, Aman has become beloved within the progressive music spectrum, recording standout projects for Juicebox Music, Mango Alley and Sudbeat, while also earning play and support from the genre's elite guard in Guy J, Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren. Now, for roku's inaugural offering, Da Luka and Aman combine their extensive forces for the first time, presenting the much anticipated single 'Mythical Creatures', alongside remixes from Golan Zocher and Kamilo Sanclemente and Chris
Cargo.

The release concludes with Chris Cargo making his label debut with the second and final interpretation of 'Mythical Creatures'. The Irish artist was an integral part of the progressive house movement that happened in the late nineties. Perhaps best known for his productions
on Mara's Choo Choo label, label, Chris also appeared on Renaissance and Automatic Records.
Following a long absence Chris made a well-received return to the scene in 2017 and has since compiled an impressive discography, highlighted by releases via John OO Fleming's JOOF Recordings, Juicebox Music, Mango Alley and his own If You Wait imprint. Fresh off projects for Tash's Movement Recordings to end the year, Chris begins 2023 by putting a deeper, more atmospheric spin on 'Mythical Creatures'. Warm and inviting throughout; its re-shaped low end
provides a smooth anchor for balmy effects and heavenly sonics to work their magic. A blissful centrepiece sits at the heart of the journey, highlighted by creamy melodies, evolving atmospherics and bulbous bass swells; an emotive amalgamation of sound which perfectly sets the stage for a tasteful finale.
