Lost Trail is the ambient/dronegaze/experimental noise project of husband-and-wife duo Zachary Corsa and Denny Wilkerson Corsa. Based in the mysterious small city of Burlington, North Carolina, The Corsas utilize lo-fi and obsolete recording technology in their music, aiming to capture a sense of atmosphere and landscape in both man-made and wild environments.

While last month's mix was, put simply, a riot, this one is a much more laidback affair. Last year I shared an exclusive from Oxtail Recordings, purveyors of "Ambient noise and broken songs". It was a split release from @leaaves and Opaline. The former, who trades in heart-rending ambient with exquisite titles, is behind this month's guest mix. It's more mixtape than mix, shuffling back and forth between glistening electronica, dusty hip-hop grooves, mournful post-rock and shiny digital pop, finally concluding with some #rare Boards of Canada. Once you've soaked in this emotional trip, check out his experimental ambient label Spare No Expanse.
